To think you should get dressed to go shopping

Went into local town today and there were two women wandering around the shopping centre in their pyjamas and dressing gowns.

I mean really, it's not hard to throw a pair of jeans and a jumper on is it ?

I think it's, on the whole done by people who live in poorer areas. It acceptable. My mum lives in a poor neighbourhood and I see it frequently there. I do not approve but I'm 60 next year and find I don't approve of many things now!!! We live in the north east.......enough said !!!

Lazy, zero self awareness or personal pride, but I'm glad people do this sort of thing as it is almost like a badge which says 'lowlife' on.

aspoonfulofyourownmedicine but you're not going out in your pyjamas, are you?
You basically change into leggings and a t-shirt that you don't sleep in. It's not the same as someone sleeping in a pair of pyjamas, getting up and going out shopping in them, which I think is what the original aibu was.

Maybe the pajamas and dressing gowns were the clothes they had put on? Apparently outer clothes styled as nightwear are a"thing" at the moment so maybe it was that.

Y'all need to look at the "people of Walmart" site if you wanna see some weird shopping outfits. Warning: it's hilarious but cannot be unseen!

people who wear sports wear like jogging suits that have clearly never jogged or did sports is one of life's mysteries. People in bedclothes out shopping in the streets takes it to another level.

Is this outbreak of nightwear the slow beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse? Should I buy a hefty shovel?

Sorry, am guilty of wearing pj's to supermarket but only after a hospital stay, on way home from hosp for essentials. Dh stops off at supermarket and I've still got pj's on but a big cardi over the top and dh pushes me around in my wheelchair to get a few bits as it's nice to do something normal after being stuck on a hospital ward for a few days and know that once home I'm indoors for a few days more. Plus I get some say in what he gets that I want. Wouldn't not get dressed on any other occasion though.
