treaclesoda · 30/12/2018 16:22

catch yourself on

To be fair, these are all MN specific.

That one's not. That saying is as old as the hills. I like it Smile

Badadadum · 30/12/2018 16:41

"Catch yourself on and get some therapy" you'd need to say that with a Belfast accent.

midsomermurderess · 30/12/2018 16:44

It's 'get your ducks in a row' rolled out time and time again on relationship threads when someone is considering leaving their partner. It has become so lazy and predictable.

MaisyPops · 30/12/2018 16:46

Well said ordinary.
Normal life involves a range of emotions. Some are good and some are negative. None need to be routinely pathologised

treaclesoda · 30/12/2018 17:09

Badadadum and while you're at it, give my head peace!

LiveSleepSnore · 30/12/2018 17:22

Ordinary girl I agree.

FlippinNora1 · 30/12/2018 18:32

@RustyBear thanks for looking that up. I thought it didn’t sound very Agatha Christie!

FiddlesticksAkimbo · 30/12/2018 19:05

Gaslight as a verb

therewillbetime · 30/12/2018 19:39

My world. .... accompanied by a photo of someone’s cat, dog, child, friend, house, on fb. Puke inducing.

This one .....ditto as above. This one what?

Starting sentences of answers with ‘so’.

Amazing......used so much, should only be reserved for hen something truly is amazing.

Hangry....no explanation needed.

Fontofnoknowledge · 30/12/2018 20:01

' it triggered my anxiety. ' ..

Did it, ? Did it really ? Of did you just find that someone mentioned something you didn't want to do. ?

'Anxiety' being used as the new 'touch of OCD' . Not things to make light of. Don't use imagined/self diagnosed mental health issues to explain away your weird behaviour. It's really annoying.
By all means mention it if it is diagnosed and therefore real.

KimchiLaLa · 30/12/2018 20:04

"Catching feels" as in "I am getting feelings for you". Bloody annoying

"Naice". Just say "really nice".

Theimpossiblegirl · 30/12/2018 20:06

needs done
needs gone
etc.

NEEDS TO BE

littlemisssunshine81 · 30/12/2018 20:09

Any sentences starting with ‘that moment when...’

OhHolyJesus · 30/12/2018 20:11

Speaking truth to power
(Over used although I appreciate the sentiment)

Like - as a sentence filler, if it is like something then it's fine

Non binary is valid - no it's not

Transwoman is a woman - nope

Better - "so we can better understand" I don't think this is grammatically incorrect but it annoys me when it's not the other way around "understand better..." to me is, just...better.

sleephelpporfavor · 30/12/2018 20:16

Red lip, pink lip etc. It's lips ffs

yolofish · 30/12/2018 20:16

I am sure someone has already said it (not RTFT) but 'woke'. I dont even know what it means!

Lalotai47 · 30/12/2018 20:28

Another vote for super instead of very e.g I am super excited.

Also still loathe cheeky as in "a cheeky pint."

Also hate action as a verb.

Lalotai47 · 30/12/2018 20:28

Positive vibes only

Lalotai47 · 30/12/2018 20:30

On the bones of my arse.

Love the bones of her.

Lalotai47 · 30/12/2018 20:30

It developed organically.

SuffolkNWhat · 30/12/2018 20:30

Lalotai47 · 30/12/2018 20:31

It is what it is. Fuck off.

Lalotai47 · 30/12/2018 20:38

One I heard years ago on Supernanny but am still traumatised by...... "milky botbot" for bottle of milk

staceyflack · 30/12/2018 20:46

God i hate this too.
I prefer... 'it aint what it aint'... as a piss take.

3out · 30/12/2018 21:06

Agree with pp, can’t stand ‘I could care less’.
