To think I'll get healthy in 4 days?

DavetheCat2001 · 28/12/2018 19:12

I'm eating and drinking for England.

Feeling blobby and a bit gross BUT am planning on doing Dry Jan ( as have done past 2 years), eating healthy food again and starting running again.

Anyone else thinking fuck it.. food and booze for a few more days and then sort it out? 🤔😇🤪

AIBU?

YANBU January starting intermittent fasting and increasing the exercise, within health limitations. Joints are agony, definitely feeling blobby and worried about fitting into beach wear for the summer!
Currently enjoying a large slice of christmas cake feeling guilt free! Xmas Grin

Thespace · 28/12/2018 19:22

Yes you’ve got to eat all the crap in the fridge first.

ThePoliticiansPraiseMyName · 28/12/2018 19:24

I'm starting 5:2 in January. I'm also planning on doing dry jan again, I found that it really helped reset my drinking and I felt so much better in myself last year.

First mission is to eat up all the seasonal goodies! We threw a party last night and shared loads of leftovers and treats so that was a good start Smile

Pachyderm1 · 28/12/2018 19:30

I thought you meant it was going to take you 4 days to get healthy and was waiting for the miracle plan!

YANBU, no point starting now when temptation is still all around.

meow1989 · 28/12/2018 19:32

I'm very guilty of this too! I'm purposefully not calorie counting until the 1st so u can start properly!

Hoopaloop · 28/12/2018 19:36

Might do 100 days of no drinking again. Think I'm teatering on edge of another bout of gastritis at the moment. Also could do with getting back into running.

Jeds55 · 28/12/2018 19:41

I'm going to do it too. Baby's 9 months now and feel really unhappy at this weight. Going to get back to eating a healthy balanced diet and get back to regular running. Not ditching booze but don't drink that much anymore anyway. Eating like a beast until then, doesn't help that shops have reduced Christmas food atm and I have zero willpower...

Jeds55 · 28/12/2018 19:44

Although may have to start on the 2nd as partner off until then and may be tempted by (another) final hurrah!

cardibach · 28/12/2018 19:47

I’m going to wait until I go back to work 9n the 6th...

iamyourequal · 28/12/2018 20:02

Yanbu. I’m doing the same but starting on the 6th, after maximum enjoyment of all 12 days of Christmas. New year Planning underway:

  1. New gym clothes to be purchased.
2. sort out wardrobe, make an inventory of items I am too fat to fit into.
  1. Plan every detail of January’s detox/weight loss program. (Whilst eating trifle and the Christmas chocolates)
  2. Plan new fitness regime (whilst eating cheese and drinking Wine).
  3. Get all required self-help books lined up for January’s reading list.
  4. Charge the fit bit, ready for action on the 6th.
How do others plan?
Ldazy · 28/12/2018 20:07

I'm building up to it.

But can't think about it just yet .... Hmm

Up until mid December I was still being super healthy. Since then I've been stuffing my face 😂 I was going to start being good again on 27 December but my friend said to wait til 1st Jan.

Then my DH bough a huge tin of quality street, so I just thought sod it.

I have good motivation as we are having our wedding reception in February after getting married away at the end of November. My dress is tiny and I need to fit into it by then 😂

rockingthelook · 28/12/2018 23:02

After days of stuffing my face ive settled back into my usual more controlled way of eating today , having lost weight this year I know that if I wait any longer the lure of the unhealthier foods will be too strong and it will be a huge battle again. I've kept the food because it has a good use by date, but will eat it and actually enjoy it more when I can do it gradually rather than mindlessly chomping.

MarcieBluebell · 28/12/2018 23:05

Same. Waiting for the 2nd Jan.

I'm defs bu for even adding easter choc to my belly!

poppiesallykatie · 29/12/2018 14:34

@iamyourequal, can I borrow your list, love the procrastination and no doing required yet! Grin but really spot on

Jellybabie3 · 29/12/2018 14:36

Yep I am starting on the 8th when I return to work. Alot of crap to get through before then though. Fitness dvd is in the post! Want to lose a stone before ttc #2

sulflower · 29/12/2018 14:56

YANBU! I have already booked fitness classes starting 8th Jan and have decided to walk anywhere I need to go within 3 miles, regardless of the weather. Also going to stop eating crap. I have ten weeks and 2 days to kick my arse into shape as we are going on holiday. Been a right lazy cow since I broke my foot in the summer and just couldn't get my motivation back.

sulflower · 29/12/2018 14:58

To further help my motivation I plan to dig out my shorts and shame myself into fitting in to them again.

Bumblebee39 · 29/12/2018 15:05

I'm spending a few days more hibernating and vegetating, with some planning alongside for changes I would like to make in the New year.

Oysterbabe · 29/12/2018 15:17

All ready to start. On the 2nd.
I have way too much cheese and pate in the fridge and too many chocolates in the cupboard to start now Grin

poppiesallykatie · 29/12/2018 17:23

@sulflower - 10 weeks (and 2 days Grin) I was a bridesmaid and I lost 2 stone in 10 weeks, so plenty of time yet!, being shovelling the food back in this Christmas though.

0lgaDaPolga · 29/12/2018 17:55

Yep definitely. I just had my second baby at the start of December and I’m not happy with my size at the moment. Eldest baby is 18 months and I hadn’t lost any weight after having him before I got pregnant again so have a lot to lose but really determined to do it. I’ve bought some scales. Just need to eat all the cheese and chocolate in the house to get rid of it Grin

DavetheCat2001 · 29/12/2018 18:02

Currently in Zizzi pizza.

2 days to healthy....

Junkmail · 29/12/2018 18:33

I started already. I allowed myself three days of eating whatever I wanted—Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day—and back on it on the 27th. But I already depleted the fridge (I truly just ate whatever I fancied 😂) and everything else was thrown in the freezer or put in a bag in the cupboard to take to my brother’s for the Christmas celebration we’re having next month (he’s been away). So no temptation staring me in the face! I’m usually extremely controlled about what I eat so it was lovely having a few days of just not caring but honestly it didn’t make me feel all that good in myself—I was so exhausted on Boxing Day and I really think it was down to eating foods I’m not used to and lack of broccoli 😂 So I’m actually happy to be back to regular eating already. But I mean—if you’ve still got festive treats laying around then you really do need to eat them first otherwise it’s just an uphill struggle. You’ve got the entire year to make healthy choices so what’s the point in depriving yourself now?
