To wish that people entering competitions could just do as they're asked?!

I've seen lots of competitions on social media. They all say the usual like and follow then a question that simply requires the answer, just the answer but no Susan and hundreds of others can't give just the answer they have to tell everyone why they deserve to win which turns into some mad competition.

"This would make my day as I have xyz and my nail file broke as well as the hoover and I also have 16 toes which is very rare"

"Oh I would so love to win this as my next door neighbours aunts neighbour lost her dog a year ago and it would make my day"

Aibu to just want people to do as they've been asked, just answer the bloody question and save your sob story! We've all probably got one!

I've wondered this before and whether they pick the best sob story for the winner or just pick at random to whoever wrote the appropriate #answer, share and like?

I see this all the time, there is a girl I see who always enters poems, she makes up long poems about the company, scarlet for her! I enter loads and win loads and manage to do without begging & poetry!

I wish people who wrote this sort of bilge were disqualified!

Agree. I would automatically disqualify anyone explaining how their cat Percy lost their favourite toy three years ago so this prize of a sofa would really help

greendale17 · 28/12/2018 17:20

I agree. Normally turns into a cringeworthy sob story

Greyhound22 · 28/12/2018 17:29

Haha!

I enter loads of comps (and have won quite a bit) all you have to do is as they say and then if you win say 'thank-you very much so kind'.

The ones that particularly make my toes curls are when they start going on 'wow what a fantastic prize - I've always said you were the best company in the world - my life would be complete if you would grant me the honour of choosing me'. For a tin of cat food or something normally.

Just like the frikken post 😂

YES OP!!! This is probably the single most annoying thing about social media for me.

I blame X-factor and their sob stories..

Drum2018 · 28/12/2018 17:37

Gives me the rage. Don't read comments at all because I'd be fit to leave expletive comments on their 'I deserve the prize because ...' comments, and I have to remember that Facebook isnt anonymous Grin
