More a WWYD?

DD had climbed out of her cot and fallen she is totally fine just cried from the shock! We have had lots of cuddles and giggles in my bed and she has fallen asleep, should I put her in her cot and have the baby monitor on full volume & hope i hear her waking or put her in her cot and take the side of (with baby monitor on obvs) we have a stair gate at the top of the stairs but not her bedroom.

She is 2 years 3 months. I will be getting her a bed guard tomorrow and putting her bed up, but what do I do for tonight ?

Thanks.

Take the side off her cot and move the stair gate to the door if her bedroom. Make sure all furniture secured to the wall. I know of a baby who was very seriously injured from climbing out the cot. I never took the risk with mine.

@Beachmummy23 the stair gate is screwed into the wall so i cant! And i cant really start drilling into walls at this time of night to do the furniture either! Thats why iv not put her in a bed yet as i needed to sort all of those things out first and then she does this !! Thanks for the advice i will take the side of and take the drawers out for now!

Yep, side off. She could really hurt herself.

Can she open the bedroom door? I'd be worried about her trying to climb over the stairgate.

Do you have a travel cot? Usually a bit deeper and will do for tonight.
I'd take the side off tomorrow and put a gate at the door. Apparently they spend a few nights falling asleep all over the room as so excited about freedom, then realise the bed is comfier!

@mortifiedmama she only try's to climb out at bedtime, and even then shes never been able to get her leg up just jumps up and down! So she must of discovered how to get her leg over !! In the mornings she usually lies there till I go in, iv taken the side of, rolled a blanket up and put it under the sheet, put her teepee matt next to the cot, took the 2 top drawers out and put a tie round the stair gate...
I don't think (touch wood) she would attempt the stair gate! She just likes shaking it more than anything, i usually wake up as soon as i hear her so hopefully she will wake me up.

No we don't have a travel cot 😩

Mattress on the floor in your bedroom for tonight?

babysharkah · 27/12/2018 22:07

When mine did this I put loads of cushions on the floor and put them in beds the next day.
