I’ve been married 7 years and always felt my in laws looked down on me. 5 years ago I had my son and 2 years ago my daughter. My MIL has always made comments like calling me cruel (repeatedly) because I weaned at 6 months not 4 months, and heartless because I wouldn’t let her come and go as she pleased just after son was born. After my daughter was born she accused me of being cruel to my son and favouring my daughter - she spoke to my husband behind my back and he told her it was utter rubbish (which it was). He was v angry. She never apologised although her husband did because he saw he was in danger of losing his grandchildren(and she was wrong). He passed away this year. This Christmas at the dinner table she brought up how my father abandoned us as a child as if it was a joke. I did say “we don’t talk about that in front of the children” but nothing more. (I’ve told them he’s dead) but she didn’t apologise. AIBU to feel fed up of it all and how do I turn it around?
