I think it’s a bit miserable really, although it wasn’t actually NND it was her mum

And the noise was the noise of a fan

Ignore the miserable sod , some people are only happy when complaining.

RoganJosh · 27/12/2018 13:53

I guess it depends if it was a drum kit being played or just opening presents?

RoganJosh · 27/12/2018 13:53

Oh I see it was a fan.

SuchAToDo · 27/12/2018 14:00

Shock how can she hear your fan in her house?..is she sat with a glass to the wall listening to your every movement...

For comparison, I heard our neighbours up at five am on Christmas day, I could hear their young child scream excitedly that Santa had been...I wasn't annoyed at them, it's Christmas, I thought it was lovely how the child was so excited Grin ...your neighbours sound like busy bodies who would probably find any reason to complain...if it wasn't the fan they would be something else they would complain about

Dermymc · 27/12/2018 14:02

What sort of fan do you use?!

Holidayshopping · 27/12/2018 14:03

A fan?! Is it really loud? Are the walls really thin? Do you normally have a fan on?

Your house must be warm to desperately need one on first thing on Xmas day.

AGHHHH · 27/12/2018 14:11

Tell them to get a life! And I say this as a highly oversensitive to noise, misophonia sufferer!

AGHHHH · 27/12/2018 14:12

I am curious about the need of a fan though on Christmas morning. Grin

PublicReactions · 27/12/2018 14:13

Are you always noisy? If a one off ignore it and enjoy yourself.

sulflower · 27/12/2018 14:17

Blimey, I'd rather a fan than a party or the like. Years ago we moved into a lovely house, it was perfect, apart from the hellishly noisy neighbours who were really quite nice people. The first Christmas we were there we were wakened at 7am by the teenage daughter singing Like a Virgin at the top of her voice. She's got a karaoke machine as a gift. We lasted 2 years before we sold up.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 27/12/2018 14:21

Wow, what a miseryguts!
8:15am is a perfectly reasonable time any morning for neighbour noise to start, if a bit annoying - but a fan?!

Tell them to fuck off (or a politer version if you feel like it) - what a ridiculous complaint!

LardLizard · 27/12/2018 14:23

It was a fan that was part of an inflatable toy
So perhaps the same volume as a hoover

Moaning neighbours! We’ve lived harmoniously next door to ours for 30 years and raised a family, now all flown the nest. Within the last few years they have started to complain about anything and everything - from my jetwasher, which I use once in a while and almost never during the winter, to my car alarm which supposedly went off in the middle of the night, but there was nothing in the car’s memory to show that it did. DW theorises that they’ve reached the grumpy age (they are now mid-70s) and I think there's something in that. Maybe OP’s neighbour’s mother has reached that age too.

Oldraver · 27/12/2018 14:25

So did your neighbour actually take time to come round to yours and knock on the door over a fan. Who does that ?

LardLizard · 27/12/2018 14:25

I just said well we won’t be playing with them all day just for about twenty mins now and for about 20-30 mins in the afternoon

OP posts:
LardLizard · 27/12/2018 14:26

It wasn’t actually our neighbour it was her mother who is staying with her, she actually said don’t tell nnd ive mentioned it otherwise she will be crosswith me

By apparently we woke her up

How miserable of them and 8.15 isn't really early. They should be thankful they don't live next door to me as ds1 is a chronic early riser anytime from 4am 😂

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 27/12/2018 14:28

What is this toy with a fan as loud as a hoover? And why did anyone think it was a good thing to buy?

LardLizard · 27/12/2018 14:29

Yes I was in the window, and she deliberately came out of her house, and came round, as she wouldn’t have been able to see from her house that I was in the window

OP posts:
LardLizard · 27/12/2018 14:30

Yes could have understood if it was 5am, but 8.15 isn’t really early imo

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 27/12/2018 14:30

I wouldn't have complained but 20 minutes of a droning hoover type sound is probably really really irritating! More so than, say, the noise of excited children.

PolkaDoting · 27/12/2018 14:31

I would absolutely tell ndn, nobody wants their mother alienating the neighbours for no good reason!

LardLizard · 27/12/2018 14:32

No more noisy, that hoovering for day 20 mins

ShannonRockallMalin · 27/12/2018 14:32

Is the toy that one with with the fan that blows up the elephant’s trunk and blows things out you have to catch?

LardLizard · 27/12/2018 14:33

It’s that type of thing
