To think I've got a hairline fracture in my eye after banging it?

I've hit my eye with a door on Christmas Day.

It's so so so sore.
I have a headache on the right side of my head where I hit it.
It's close to the temple.
The pain is all around the side of my face. Hurts when I laugh or chew?
It's not a black eye but it is swollen.
My cheek everything hurt! A lot!!

I had such a bad headache now for two days!

My husband said that's what happens when you actually bruise yourself (he played rugby for years so I think he is blase about hurting things)

Is it normal for a bruise to hurt this much on your head? I really honestly haven't bruised my head for about 10 years

To think I've got a hairline fracture in my eye after banging it?

You need to go to A&E today and get that looked at.

brokenhead · 27/12/2018 12:35

Does it look bad?

I really have to say it hurts an awful lot

And my husband said it's normal if you bruise your head

I am actually pregnant as well

Please just go and get it checked out, if you are unsure you can phone them.

Houseonahill · 27/12/2018 12:39

I've cracked my cheek bone before and it fuckin kills but half my face was also blue. There isn't much A&E can do if it's just a hairline fracture but obviously if you in agony or worried you should get it checked out but maybe by your GP first who can send you to A&E if he thinks it necessary.

Yes because I can't have an x Ray and my vision is fine it just really really hurts
I hate being at hospital and I am not confused but I am worried about it
My husband is working today and I have my son so I can ring the GP tomorrow

Interesting about the cheek
When did it go blue?

You can have an x Ray when you’re pregnant- they’ll probably just get you to wear a lead apron

brokenhead · 27/12/2018 12:46

Yes last pregnancy I had about 60 x rays in quick succession to get a nephrostomy in and then I had them again to get it out
It's just I don't know what they can do if you have broken your skull?
Well fractured it Grin

Hmm I'm not sure I'd bother for this if your vision is fine and you're not dizzy or feeling sick.

Try paracetamol and a cold compress for the pain.

Do you have a minor injuries near you?

brokenhead · 27/12/2018 12:48

Yes have a minor injuries

I don't think I've got a Brian injury

Oh god I feel so silly now
It's just it really hurts

If it was dangerous j would already have symptoms wouldn't I?

I have had a concussion before and I was really crazy with it

I'd try minor injuries before a&e. Have you tried paracetamol and a cold compress for the headache? You can take the full, normal dosage of paracetamol when you're pregnant. Give that a go first.

brokenhead · 27/12/2018 12:55

Yes took it yesterday

I'll try it again now though actually
Good idea

Thankfully I'm not afraid of taking medicAtion when pregnant I had a very medicalised previous pregnancy 😊
Thanks for the support everyone

It's most effective if you keep on top of the doses.

If it's still really sore tonight after a couple of doses of paracetamol then there's no harm in popping over to minor injuries.
