Was hit on the M6 today by a lorry moving into my lane and running me off into the hard shoulder. Has been reported to the police but only have a partial reg to go on. I saw the logo on the lorry and am trying to work out what company it is as that along with the partial reg should locate the driver.

The logo was like this drawing except the bear looked like a proper bear and not my awful drawing, with a star constellation across it. Company name something bears.

Any ideas?

That would be Great Bear. They are a logistics company.

Hope you get sorted.

I had a lorry hit me a few weeks ago, got the reg etc and Northumbria Police wouldn’t do anything/treat it as a hit and run as they said it can’t be proved that he knew that he hit me.

Great Bear Distribution?

Hope you're okay.

Not that, the bear was more detailed, you could see fur etc. He knew he hit me, for one I blared my horn but also I span off on the hard shoulder in front of him and he swerved round me to exit the junction. All passengers thankfully ok!

Great bear..

Florries · 26/12/2018 22:13

So sorry op, glad PP have been able to identify. Have you got a dash cam at all?.

animallikeyou · 26/12/2018 22:15

I would imagine it’s Great Bear. See attached.

I worked on building one of their warehouses.

Another version of the Great Bear Logo with fur

CatchingBabies · 26/12/2018 22:17

That looks just like it @animallikeyou except it was facing the other way. I wonder if they use it other ways also.

OP posts:
Longdistance · 26/12/2018 22:20

Well, I’d imagine the bears head would be facing the driver.

Wank of the driver to drive off Angry

flourella · 26/12/2018 22:20

You can see the fur on the logo in real life. Here it is in blue on white which might show up clearer on here.

Yeah they do @catchingbabies. They have different variants of the logo on different vehicles.

It will be the same company.

I hope you get somewhere with them, glad everyone is OK.

flourella · 26/12/2018 22:22

Oh, cross-post with, er, everyone! First time posting a pic so I checked it was in order about fifty times!

CatchingBabies · 26/12/2018 22:22

Thank you all for your help! Hopefully the police can track down the driver.

HermioneWeasley · 26/12/2018 22:26

They should know roughly where their wagons are. If you can be precise about location and time, they should be able to narrow it down

CatchingBabies · 26/12/2018 22:29

Great I know the exact location as there is roadworks there (which I crashed into)

BoneyBackJefferson · 26/12/2018 22:31

If its a new lorry it will have GPS tracking on it and the bump will have registered on the tacograph in someway.

As Hermione says they should know where there lorries are at all times so as long as you have a time and place it should be easy to trackdown.

EchoCardioGran · 26/12/2018 22:35

Good luck. I'm so glad that you are all ok, what a horrible person the driver is.

CatchingBabies · 26/12/2018 22:49

I’m just in shock that they ploughed into me rather than miss the junction and double back. They clearly saw me, I was slightly ahead of them and they sped up and cut in front but the back of the lorry hit my car and sent me spinning off.

Hello CatchingBabies how are you today? I hope that the police have been positive. Have you been in touch with your insurers also?Flowers

Weedsnseeds1 · 27/12/2018 14:38

It's Great Bear, they use tracking systems on their vehicles, so will be able to identify driver from time and location. Not to mention the damage on their trailer, which will be identified at driver's debrief at end of shift!
