Can anyone who knows LOL dolls help me

My 6 year old is obsessed with LOL dolls and got lots for Christmas. She’s had great fun opening them today but is confused as these two (ones a normal doll and one is a little sister) don’t appear on the enclosed booklet where she ticks off the ones that she’s got. Does anyone recognise them or know why? I’m thinking they are counterfeit ones.

Thanks

Are the LOL dolls heads hard or squishy?

MrsFoxPlus4 · 26/12/2018 12:41

If you know the series you can search on the website

MrsFoxPlus4 · 26/12/2018 12:51

I looked through the little sisters and there’s a couple with pink hair and an orange nappy but the hair styles are different...

CatchingBabies · 26/12/2018 12:54

The heads are squishy, they also were not attached which was a little disturbing! Google tells me this means fake generally. I didn’t realise there were fakes of these around! Gutted as they are the first ones she’s ever had and was so excited. Hopefully I can get a refund.

Do they have screws in the body? Perhaps they're fake and if so wouldn't appear on the leaflets ..... It's the sort of thing my mum would do (with the best intentions!) to enable her to buy more presents with her budget! 😂

arewethereyetmum78 · 26/12/2018 12:57

I just showed pics to my lol obsessed 8 year old. I asked if she knew their names and straight away she said they're fake as the eyes are wrong apparently.

Sorry OP

LakeIsle48 · 26/12/2018 12:59

Where did you buy them?

anitagreen · 26/12/2018 13:02

These are fakes did you get them of eBay? We found out most on there are fake sadly now I use amazon or Asda to get them. X

PoutySprout · 26/12/2018 13:04

Definitely fake. Did they have the layers you’d usually expect? We bought a fake accidentally on holiday and there were so many differences from the real one when you opened it it was blindingly obvious.

Then we looked it up and they contain toxic chemicals. It got “lost” on the way home.

buzzing · 26/12/2018 13:06

Yep, my equally LOL obsessed DD says fake too. Apparently the big sister would be Troublemaker but the dress is wrong & the eyes are too big as well.

Sorry OP, so frustrating that these are allowed to be sold in the UK

TheFifthKey · 26/12/2018 13:07

The big one looks fake to me - and the heads are always attached on the ones we’ve had.

PoutySprout · 26/12/2018 13:08

They aren’t.

Ginpasta · 26/12/2018 13:09

My little girl says fake too, something about the eyes not being right

CatchingBabies · 26/12/2018 13:11

These are the first ones we’ve ever had so don’t know what to expect with layers and heads etc. It’s the fact they were not on the list that made me suspicious.

Plus we’ve now discovered that the colour changing one doesn’t change colour. We bought them from a local market stall that I’ll be going back to in the new year.

They were cheaper than normal but they weren’t so cheap as to make me think fake, they were in packs of 6 so I just thought slightly cheaper as you’re buying more at once if that makes sense.

Now trying to find places locally that sell them so I can replace and cheer the little one back up.

MorningsEleven · 26/12/2018 13:11

They look very fake.

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 26/12/2018 13:13

The big one is definitely fake (DD who is 5 confirmed about the eyes).

That’s a shame OP, I’d be wary about letting her keep them. Fakes aren’t subject to rules or health and safety and many have been found to contain all kinds of nasties.

OlennasWimple · 26/12/2018 13:14

I'd report them to trading standards rather than just get your money back - fake toys with small parts are probably unsafe for children to play with, as well as being illegal

Stompythedinosaur · 26/12/2018 13:17

They look like fakes to me.

So literally all of the warning signs were there, then. 🤦🏻‍♀️

CatchingBabies · 26/12/2018 13:24

@poutyspout Not really no, the market stall has been there for years selling loads of toys and never had any reason to suspect any problems with them. Also they are always cheaper when in packs, so Argos sells a pack of 3 for slightly less than you would pay for 3 individually so why wouldn’t I think that I would pay slightly less for a box of 6? They weren’t so cheap that it was obvious.

My dd says fakes too. Sorry OP.

Fullofthought · 26/12/2018 13:31

My 6 year old has said 100% fake when I showed her she.

whatswithtodaytoday · 26/12/2018 13:33

I'd assume anything on a market stall is a fake. Surely that's pretty obvious?

MrsFoxPlus4 · 26/12/2018 13:35

Definitely fake if they came from a market stall. I doubt they’d refund you if you took them back they aren’t usually helpful. Can report to trading standards though.

HashTagLil · 26/12/2018 13:38

I'd be contacting your local Trading Standards and reporting the stall holder.
