To show you what I made my dd for Xmas?

A mermaid! My dd was born without a nerve on one side of her face & has a lop-sided smile, so I made the doll to match.

I learnt how to curl doll hair 100yrs ago in my 'O' level Needlework class. You soak the hair in a sugar solution & it sets like concrete!

That is beautiful and she will surely love it, but.. but.. but.. How ever did you curl the hair?

It took a decent 36hrs to make but a lot of that time was spent deciding details & creating a pattern.

I love it and I'm sure your dd will too. My ds has a lopsided smile too, he was born with a cleft lip and it's repaired now but the muscles don't quite work together.
