AIBU to be worried about new nanny’s lack of supervision of children

New nanny seems practically perfect, kind but firm and handles my spirited children well.

However I’ve become aware that she took my children on a visit to the countryside at zero notice without my approval and then spent a good fifteen minutes with her boyfriend leaving the DC completely unattended by the waterside nowhere in sight. She also exposed them to bloodsports, of which I do not approve. AIBU to give her immediate notice.

Why yes I am watching Mary Poppins while I cook supper. How did you guess.

I would sack her immediately without hesitation.

Don't worry, OP, she will soon float off of her own accord. Take your DC to fly a kite and forget about it.

Ha! Read the first sentence and thought 'Mary Poppins!'. We've got it on too. ❤️

Well considering the neglect you show to your DC’s, then it’s a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Just be grateful you’ve got a decent nanny.
