To ask what you have for Christmas Day breakfast

I would have bucks fizz followed by Pina coladas but we have to drive and visit.

So, we are having m&s blini's, soft whipped cheese, smoked salmon, caviar and prawns.

What's on your menu?

Cranberry and orange muffins here too, plus tea/coffee and bucks fizz (orange juice with lemonade version for kids).

We used to do the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs thing but struggled with how rich it is first thing (and working up an appetite for a turkey dinner not too long after) . Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs is now our Christmas eve supper - has been for years!

Merry Christmas mumsnetters!

cheesenpickles · 25/12/2018 00:36

@LLOE7 on the coco pops or with? (Please day on!)

BumDisease · 25/12/2018 02:49

Got my plain bread, black pudding and slice in the fridge for tomorrow... I'm going to need it!

Roobub · 25/12/2018 03:14

Fresh baked (well, from frozen!) pecan pastries and hot chocolate. Can't wait!

Frogletmamma · 25/12/2018 03:40

Prosecco and crumpets

canigetaliein · 25/12/2018 05:15

Fry up here to which seems a lot but we eat later in the day & are gluttons.

jq28 · 25/12/2018 05:18

Pain au chocolat and a cup of tea as I'm pregnant. Normally it would be with a baileys or Buck's Fizz.

canigetaliein · 25/12/2018 05:24

drinkswise I start with tea & then maybe some champagne. Always prefer to have my buck’s fizz with xmas dinner although we always have it on xmas eve.

Stringofpearls · 25/12/2018 05:26

Weetabix and a cup of tea.

Stopyourhavering64 · 25/12/2018 05:29

Freshly baked ( from frozen) croissants, pain au chocolat and Danish pasties washed down with bucks fizz

Llanali · 25/12/2018 05:45

I’m very nauseous from a general anaesthetic yesterday, but everyone else has home baked croissants, or scrambled egg with salmon on bagels, or porridge and Christmas fruit compote I made. With champagne of course!

I think I’m on hot dilute Ribena and some plain porridge with a bit of salt this year.

YorkshireWelsh · 25/12/2018 06:13

Traditionally (as a child at at my parents); bacon or bacon & egg sandwiches on thick white bread with tonnes of butter (to keep you going until you got to my grandparents, who would promptly try to feed you second breakfast shortly before a massive Christmas lunch at about 2pm).
DH and I are a bit rubbish on the Christmas traditions but this year I’m going to attempt a joe wicks/body coach easy hollandaise sauce for eggs benedict....I tried ‘proper’ hollandaise a couple of years back and the stress nearly ruined Christmas 😂
Have a great day everyone!!

BooHasAPressieForYou · 25/12/2018 06:15

Usually do smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and bagels.
This year we're having bacon rolls as DD said she'd rather that

echt · 25/12/2018 06:20

I went to lovely Christmas breakfast/brunch today, a buffet-style Buck's Fizz, salmon, avocado, scrambled eggs, soft cheese, ham, rocket salad, crusty ready and salted butter, mangoes, passion fruit, cherries, grapes.

IheartCaptainHolt · 25/12/2018 06:53

We've got eggs, bacon and smoked salmon but I've also made this

www.averiecooks.com/overnight-gingerbread-french-toast-breakfast-bake/

Which I cannot wait to eat (even if it does seem more like a pudding than breakfast!)

Mominatrix · 25/12/2018 06:54

Cinnamon swirl brioche in oven now. Hot chocolate next. We'll have them in the living room whilst opening presents.

brookshelley · 25/12/2018 07:06

We had French toast, frittata, and crispy bacon. Coffee and tea and DB went for Baileys Grin

avoschmado · 25/12/2018 07:10

Nothing. How can you all fit in so much food in one day?!

brizzledrizzle · 25/12/2018 07:10

Bacon sandwiches. Guess what I forgot to buy?

Atalune · 25/12/2018 08:38

Just had a Bloody Mary, strong latte, poached egg with avocado. Kids had pancakes with chocolate spread and marshmallows fluff. FC brings the fluff as it’s the devils on food and refuse to buy it! 😜

BoringSoupBeforeTheTurkeyFeast · 25/12/2018 08:46

Bacon butties now, and possibly a very light snack in between then and Xmas dinner which is at 2.30..

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 25/12/2018 08:56

Buck's Fizz, bacon butties, smoke salmon and scrambled egg, eggs florentine

Ladytinselmuff · 25/12/2018 09:02

Just had an assorted breakfast as everyone likes different things - scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for me and DH, scrambled eggs and bacon for DS1, fried egg and bacon for DD and a pain au raisin for DS2! Mayhem already - Turkey in, fingers crossed! Merry Christmas all!

Eliza9917 · 25/12/2018 09:13
