To hate the winter sun as it makes my house look filthy?

Please tell me im not alone in this? Between 2 teenagers and two dogs, I feel like I'm on a constant battle of my house looking clean and dust free no matter how much time I spend cleaning. I hate moaning about the sun coming out and love wintery sunny days but equally, I hate it as the blinding sun makes my house look dusty and filthy even though I'm houseproud and try to keep my house nice and clean. In the room we spend the most time, we have horizontal blinds which are necessary but the bane of my life as they are constantly caked in dust no matter how much time I spend cleaning them!

Anyone else in the same boat?

Yes !!! My house is gorgeous in the evenings, clean and tidy and smelling lovely - in the days it seems to look like a hovel 😂

Ha, I was just thinking the same. I quickly spun the Hoover round the downstairs room as DH put the rug back down you could see a cloud of dust in the shaft of sunlight. I shut the curtains so I couldn't see it Grin

Dust is normal. No house is ever truly dust free. Relax a bit, and if you can’t, go out for a sunny walk so you’re not looking at the dust.

Window smears do look awful in low sun I agree. Bit easier to get rid of than dust.

Yes x 1,000,000. We spend most of the time in a south facing sunroom, and it looks particularly grotty today. Yesterday was foggy and couldn't see any muck.

The best time of year to clean windows Smile

Nothing wrong with a bit of dust swirling in the sunshine. Life isn't meant to be sterile.

You're right anotherpidgey that's what I keep telling myself!
