To not really enjoy christmas?

My problem is i love the idea of christmas but every year i feel disappointed. It's always so stressful and at least one person ends up in tears. There's always an argument in the family by the end of the day which puts everyone in a mood. I just can't look foward to it when i know this will happen. DC enjoy the morning but they get tired and upset later on. I wish i could have one christmas where everyone is happy

A few tears doesn't mean they're 'unhappy' - it means for those brief minutes they're tired/overwhelmed/being twats.

Try not to overidentify with their feelings (focus on your own enjoyment- what do YOU need to be enjoying yourself?)

Tears pass.

Take it for what it is, an indulgence fest. That means its stressful for children who often melt down later in the day. Manage it slowly less hype and expectations, `spread out present giving, go out for a walk. Don't put yourself under pressure to "make it perfect" You will enjoy it a bit more
