To think people could stop being wankers at Christmas

Working as a christmas temp for the 1st time in retail and both today and yesterday I've had the rudest and worst customers who at any other time of the year would never speak to a person like that... Just want to have a cry, working tomorrow till 6pm and boxing day from 6am and I'm dreading how busy it will be having never been to a boxing day sale before.
Why can't people just be bloody polite, is it so much to ask for!?

Beat me to it, redexpat! Have this song on a constant loop in my head at the moment.

Not unreasonable at all. I did my Christmas shopping the other day and the amount of rude people I encountered was unreal. In the space of two hours I’d had a shopping trolley rammed up my backside, feet run over by a moron with a pram and 3 foiled attempts at cutting in front of me when I was waiting to pay for my items.

Politeness costs nothing and I really feel for anyone in customer service jobs who have to deal with these assholes day in day out. This time of year really brings out the worst in people.

I was yelled at by a driver (sworn at ) obviously off somewhere very important .

Well madam, I hope you get a copy of the Highway Code for Christmas and you should FUCKING READ IT 'cos I was in the right !

Merry Christmas y'all.

I worked retail hell for years, I always called late November on the start of the nightmare before Christmas. People are rarely worse then they are at Christmas. It's quite ironic.

People are dicks this time of the year.

The stress gets to them.

It will all be over soon.
