Christmas eve I've always put a little map or riddle in the last draw of the advent calendar so the hunt for the last bit of chocolate. I'm really struggling for riddles this year. It's a normal house with all the normal stuff and places to hide things. Three children, age 10, 11 and 13. Any clever creative posters about to help me out

Posted on Christmas topic but no replies so posting here for traffic. Oh, aibu for asking?

When you're feeling less than fresh
there's just one place to go
To wash and get all squeaky clean
and scrub between each toe

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 23/12/2018 14:46

When the day is done I lie here
to get some peace and rest.
Of all the rooms within the home
Its the one I love the best.

KennDodd · 23/12/2018 14:47

Thank you! Any more?

That kind of thing? (Bathroom and bedroom by the way)

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 23/12/2018 14:51

When the gifts have all been opened
And the wrappings lie in piles
We'll tidy them all into this
It sits upon the kitchen tiles

(Kitchen bin)

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 23/12/2018 14:54

Little hooks all in a row
Tidies hats and coats
Look up high and you will find
Another of my notes

(Coat rack)

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 23/12/2018 15:01

A tidy house would use this
To store their tools and cars
They'd never keep half the junk
That's lurking out in ours!

Garage

In the dark,
Beneath a shoe;
There it hides,
Another clue.

(closet/wardrobe)

Merrymumoftwo · 23/12/2018 15:05

A place where we all sit to eat
And talk about our day
Visit here and you will find
The next clue to guide your way

(Dining room)

Merrymumoftwo · 23/12/2018 15:06

A Tv show or film to watch
Then here is where we come
We chat and laugh on the couch
Until the day is done
(Living room)

Oilybeans · 23/12/2018 15:13

In this room mum has fun.
It's where dad makes her cum.
There are soft pillows.
And a big box of dildos.

Lovingbenidorm · 23/12/2018 15:13

I’m only here at Christmas
To make the room look bright
My baubles look so pretty
As they sparkle in the light

(Christmas 🌲) 😁

Lovingbenidorm · 23/12/2018 15:14

Mmmmmmm🧐
Not very festive Oily!

BottleOfJameson · 23/12/2018 15:16

I rain on you when you need a scrub.
I'm very much like my friend the tub.

BottleOfJameson · 23/12/2018 15:16

I take your clothes for quite a spin.
But first, they get wet. That's how I begin.

Fridaydreamer · 23/12/2018 15:25

I did something similar once and still have the list Grin...

Fridge

“My riddle may be a little bold, but you can find me where it’s rather cold”

Bookshelf

“This riddle has a toy to give, amongst the shelves where stories live”

Ducks

“They're very quiet and never talk back, but if they did they would say Quack”

Puff (Footstool)

“Just like the wolf this clue is no duff... at the three little pigs he would huff and ????”

Sweet Tin

“I'm made of metal just like tin, a treat you'll find hidden within"

Hair brush Box

“Please don't feel the need to rush... or comb or bobble or grip or brush"

Computer

“I have lots of 'keys' and a mouse to boot... if you come find me I have your loot"

Tin Cupboard

“You may find beans or some chocolate spread... but a treat for you I have instead"

DVD's

“Look us up if you fancy a movie... or a treat. Now that's pretty groovy"

Wooden Name plaque

“I'm very bright and made with love. Come find me where your name is wood"

Top Drawer

“I open & close, I'm not on the floor, I sometimes hold socks and I rhyme with door"

Bottom drawer

“I may be bottom, but I hold things galore. I have a handle and I rhyme with floor"

Inside shoes

“I'm all tucked up, having a snooze. Please don't tread on me, I'm in your shoes!"

Microwave

“I warm your milk up from within and when I’m done I shout out “PING!”

Cup Cupboard

“In a cupboard is your clue. We hold your drink when you want a brew"

Under a Cushion

“I live on the couch but I’m often on the floor. Look underneath me to see what’s in store"

Under Dining Table

“My top is round and good for art, underneath me is a good place to start"

Behind Kettle

“You fill me with water, I bubble away, to make a good brew. Behind me your surprise lays"

Under Xmas Tree

“Under the green arms, hidden away, come seek me where the presents lay”

This is jolly handy

Dh is currently working on our mini treasure hunt for tomorrow

Children are very nearly 20, 17 and 15

These are not typos Grin

KennDodd · 23/12/2018 17:01

Oilybeans Shock I don't think we'll be using that Grin

Thank you all so much, these are brilliant and will keep me going for the next couple of years.

I can't think of rhymes but these are some of the clues I've used for similar treasure hunts around the house

An edible colour (orange)

A mini hand gesture ( microwave)

A container for the alphabet
(Letterbox)

Typically more in April (shower)

Pet with no tail ( computer mouse)

Keys that don't open doors ( piano or computer keyboard)

JAPAB · 23/12/2018 18:33

"Behind the scenes" = behind the TV.

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 23/12/2018 18:37

There was a man called Boscombe, for short we called him Bos, and he walked up the stairs to the post office.

Of course, then you'd have to put the chocolate in a box, and allow it to exist (or not) in a state of quantum uncertainty...

KennDodd · 24/12/2018 08:43

Thank you, treasure hunt done
