If I get a spare half an hour I just stare at my shit tip of a house and pray the silence will last 5 more minutes. I may include tv or internet surfing as part of my multi tasking.

It's definitely not just you. New parent here, maybe it's just early days but competitive self sacrifice under a time limit ain't my thing.

I prefer cleaning in a massive go, actually. There is immense satisfaction in witnessing the dramatic before and after transformation. Just did a deep clean of the dc's rooms this past fortnight, and it's amazing! Mountains of rubbish removed and a sparkling room as a result. Lovely.

This, of course, takes hours and hours, so I only manage it once a year.
