Care home visiting

I worked in a pub years ago and we were like a family. One of the landlords friends who worked there was old at the time and we all lost touch when the landlord emigrated but I miss them all like mad. I’ve just found out that the old guy is now in a carehome and I really want to go and see him. He doesn’t have much family, only a daughter who has quite a lot of difficulties that I know of and I don’t even know his last name but I do know which carehome he’s in. Does anyone know whether it would be possible to visit him without knowing his full name. I’m not bothered if he remembers who I am but he’s such a lovely man and I want to make his Christmas a little bit better even if he thinks I’m a stranger.

Ring the care home, the staff will be best placed to tell you.
Im sure he will be happy to get a visitor

That's a lovely thing to do Secretsquirrelisfedup
My mum was in a care home for 6yrs and there were lots of residents who never had a visit.
I would go, I'm sure he would be chuffed to see you.
