My DM will be buying my DP parents a present, they only met once at my partner birthday so it was a big one!

My DP thinks it’s odd and say don’t worry about it. But feel my DM would be offended, so DP says we should take present but not give it to DP parents???

My DP parents only his Step dad asks about my DM, whereas no one else does?

AIBU to just give the present?

I have no idea what you’re trying to say, sorry! Can you explain more?

MsJudgemental · 21/12/2018 20:47

Why would you not give the present?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 21/12/2018 20:49

I don’t understand why you would say you were passing on a present and not do it.

I think that’s nice; my mil has given us a present for my Mum and I’ve let my mum know in case she wants to send something

Limensoda · 21/12/2018 20:58

If your DM has given you a gift for your DP's parents, you should give it to them .
It's not up to you to decide not to give it

Stompythedinosaur · 21/12/2018 21:13

I have no idea why you wouldn't pass it on. Surely it's up to them if they give a present.

Housingcraze · 21/12/2018 21:14

It’s my DP who doesn’t wish too pass it on!

Why would you not pass on a present?

HauntedPencil · 21/12/2018 22:57

It's not particularly weird. It's a nice gesture tell him to not be mean and give it!
