Help me decide what to do

Currently work 45 hours per week. Started 3 months ago, average pay. Not great but not amazing. Technically we don't need the money. I was a sahm before this. 2 kids 2&7, but the hours are killing me. I leave when kids are sleeping and get home to cook diner and they're tired and grumpy.

The past 2 weeks I have almost not came in but forced myself. Working xmas eveand too which is getting me down.

So do I -

1, wait til we return in jan and ask to reduce hours. Id like 3 days tops. I think if they give me it it will be reluctantly and not very happily.

2, ask to reduce hours today before thewe Christmas break so I know where I stand. Boss leaves today so he won't be best pleased.

3, leave and look for a part time, role.

Option 1

1, and if that doesn’t work, option 3

DroningOn · 21/12/2018 13:31

1 then 3

Definitely option 1. A lot of people think about their jobs and the future over the Christmas break and employers I think generally expect various changes to staffing in the new year.
Depending on what field your in I don't think finding a part time role is that easy, a lot of companies automatically advertise roles as full time without considering part time options.

Yeah the part time role would unfortunately need to be entry level. I just need a break and to see my kids more though so im ok with that. I'll wait til new year and see. Thanks.
