Copper coil inserted whilst unknowingly pregnant

HELP!!! I had the copper coil fitted on Monday 17th and I've just found out that I'm pregnant 3 days later. Clear blue says 1-2 weeks.

I did a test on the morning of having the coil fitted (negative) and we used condoms after my last AF until I had the coil.

Now I'm worrying that I could have an ectopic. Would I have already had implantation before it was fitted?? According to my cycle app I ovulate around the 6th December. My AF was due anytime between Tues and Friday. I came off the depo at the end of July. (That's when next shot was due) So my cycles since then have been 26, 22, 24 days. my partner and I decided to try for a child knowing that it may take some time. So since July we hadn't used contraception. After my last AF on 25th Nov we decided to use condoms and I decided to get the coil fitted.

It was obviously too early to pick up the pregnancy on the day of coil insertion.

To make matters worse I have been offered a new job starting at the beginning of January 😬 I know legally I don't have to inform them of a pregnancy until 25 weeks and they can't legally get rid of me because of pregnancy but now I'm worrying that they will look for another way to say I'm not good enough for the job on top of worrying about a coil and pregnancy 😫😫😫

To be honest I would call 111 right now and ask for a call back from a doctor, or even go to the hospital. I think there could be serious consequences of this so you need to see a doctor asap.

Thank you. I have spoken to 111 and the clinician seemed to think that it may be an incorrect result! It's not rocket science to know that you can have a negative a few days before a positive...🙄 so she's made me an urgent appt to go in at 10pm for a blood test. It's too early to scan if I was pregnant to see where it is as implanted x

Has anyone been in a similar situation? I had my blood test and the hgc level was only 20 so I've been told that I may be pregnant and my levels are going up or the coil acted as emergency contraception and my levels may be lowering?! I have to go back on Xmas eve for another test to see if my hgc levels are going up.

In the meantime I have done another cb digital and it is still saying 1-2 weeks :/

How are you doing today? I hope today goes quickly for you

Do you have a sexual health walk in clinic near you? May be worth going in, for advice if nothing else.

In regards to your job, they can't get rid of you because you're pregnant, if they want to get rid of you at all they would have to be very careful as it could be seen as discrimination. However, you won't be entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay as you were pregnant before starting work with your employer, though you may get materity allowance instead.

I'm doing ok thank you. I'm back tomorrow morning for a blood test, although I have been told that I might not get the results back tomorrow. So I'll have to wait until Thursday 😫 my son is 7 and my partner has an 8 year old daughter so it's been a while since we did any baby stuff. We would both be happy to have another baby though. With regards to work, I know I can't get smp. I may be able to get maternity allowance. I'm just concerned about telling them 😬 x
