Another parcel one

Sorry for posting on here but I’m slightly annoyed.

So for the past few weeks I’ve been taking in our neighbours parcels and then taking the parcels to them because they were taking up room in the hall.

Anyway, I took in another 2 parcels for them today and I’ve had a bit of a lazy day with my little one after my daughters Christmas play this morning (I’m on mat leave) and had a knock on my door about 20 minutes ago. I go down and it’s the neighbour. I go and get his parcel and he asks why I haven’t dropped it to them.

I told him that I fancied a lazy day and my DH would have drop it round when he got back from work. He then starts to get a bit narky and says “it’s not like you do anything all day so it’s not hard to bring us our parcels”

I told him I would not accept anymore parcels for them anymore and shut the door. Was I being rude? I don’t think I was but maybe I made a rod for my own back by taking their parcels to them previously?

The cheek of some people. But maybe it’s me.

Very cheeky of them. I definitely wouldn't take anymore parcels for them. You did the right thing.

cheesywotnots · 19/12/2018 20:10

you did the right thing, do not take in any more parcels for him.

poppstar35 · 19/12/2018 20:10

You were already doing him a favour taking them in. It’s been nice of you to take them over in the past. if you were my neighbour I wouldn’t expect you to to bring them to me.

How bloody rude of him.

AuntMarch · 19/12/2018 20:10

What a tosser!
I hate my parcels being left with neighbours I don't know- I don't want to disturb them by knocking and will usually wait 24 hrs before I do so unless it's something I need urgently, but I certainly don't complain if they don't bring it in that time!

WhatsUpHun · 19/12/2018 20:11

When he start a paying you to deliver, then you will deliver!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 19/12/2018 20:11

Cheeky fucker.

HammerHorror · 19/12/2018 20:15

Wow!! What a cheeky fucker.

And you were delivering the parcels to them!

Our neighbour always takes in our parcels (postman always comes when I'm doing drop off). We collect, apologise for inconveniencing them yet again, and thank them... because we're normal!!

GlassSuppers · 19/12/2018 20:23

Massive CF right there! YANBU in the slightest!

Was he being serious? It sounds like a joke not delivered very well.

LottieLou90 · 19/12/2018 20:41

Thank you all for your replies.

@Lettermethis yes it did happen. Which is why I told him I wouldn’t take any parcels in for them anymore.

What’s to not understand?

I’m pissed off with what has happened. Why would I make this up??

What is actually happening with mumsnet?

I come on here to vent. I’m on mat leave so busy enough to not make up stories.

It seems as though people are looking to have a dig. Ridiculous.

If I wanted to make something up surely something other than parcels would be better??
