To expect my parents to make plans with me over Xmas?

I’ve travelled 2.5 hours to come visit them over Xmas, but my dad is busy with his long term girlfriend (don’t know why we can’t do something all together) and my mum complains she has no money (but literally a movie night would be lovely)

I feel like there’s no point me being here!

Did they know you were coming?

It's not Christmas for another week.

How are you spending Christmas Day Op?

Crunchymum · 19/12/2018 16:27

Where are you staying?

Can you not arrange a movie night with your mum?

What are the plans for Xmas Eve / day and boxing day?

Yanbu
I stopped visiting my own parents at Xmas when it became clear that they fully intended to carry on with their own plans with an invite to ‘come if you want’. Any suggestions from me were totally rebuffed.
I wouldn’t go if they aren’t making an effort after all that travelling x
