Each house on our estate has 2 parking spaces. Neighbour to the right doesnt have a car. we have 2 cars. Neighbour to the left has 4 cars. Right neighbour has said we can use her space when we are using family car (for the baby, cant use DH run around for baby and one space of ours blocks the other) however since shes said this, we have noticed left neighbour uses her spaces ALOT. She has said to DH they dont ask. The other day they had 2 cars in her spaces and none in their own. Whenever we use a space for an extented period (to me thats anything more than popping to the shops) we ask. However left neighbour has had her car parked in one space for 3 days. Then her partner will park work van in the other space meaning right hand neighbour has no space left for visitors. If there is a car in either of her spaces we dont use the other one so if she has visitors they have somewhere to park.
Just to confirm, this isnt about us not being able to use her space if they are parked there, we are very lucky she has offered. But i am concerned for her. She is around 70, on her own, quite active and lovely. Left hand neighbours are very intimidating, rude, switches number plates between cars, plays loud music from car, smokes 'special' cigerettes which give off an offensive smell (with a child in the house and while pregnant but thats by the by). I worry that right hand neighbour doesnt feel comfortable asking them to stop. We know shes not happy with it as shes mentioned it to DH. Left hand neighbour has also pissed off pretty much everyone else on the street and are very aggressive (think slanging match at 1am for pulling up playing loud music outside another neighbours house). Also, left neighbour rents, right neighbour owns so they are parked on land which isnt theirs but might not understand these rules. They have no respect for anyones parking spaces as her mum has parked in my space before and when i honked the horn because i didnt know whos car it was she moved it then pulled up behind me to block me in.
I dont think there is anything we can do. If i report any of their activity they will know it was me and i worry about the backlash. Thoughts?
