Am I the only person who still watches Dragons' Den

no-one I know watches it anymore!

I love Deborah Meaden (fellow Remainer!)
Really don't like Jenny Chapman and think it's funny how people only accept an offer from Tooka (?) if they are really desperate Grin

Anyone else still watch it>

No, gave it up a couple of seasons ago. Just got bored.

ScreamingValenta · 17/12/2018 17:05

I used to watch it, but rarely bother now - on the whole the investors are too slick and savvy now and the products aren't as quirky as they used to be. It's got too business-like to be entertaining.

MakeMineALarge1 · 17/12/2018 17:06

I still watch it, I quite like it.

queenofgoogle · 17/12/2018 17:07

I watch it, I absolutely love it and yes I feel so bad for touker as no one seems to want his investment, I don't get why.

AntiHop · 17/12/2018 17:10

I enjoy it

PositiveVibez · 17/12/2018 17:13

I don't watch it anymore. Like a pp, I got bored of it. I do like Deborah meaden though. She comes across as really nice and funny when she is a guest on other shows.

HollowTalk · 17/12/2018 17:14

I love it.

I always cringe when someone's sold their house to fund something that clearly wouldn't make them more than a few thousand.

I don't think most of them understand about valuing their company - they seem to pick random percentages and lump sums out of the air.

AthenaisdeRochechouart · 17/12/2018 17:18

Does anyone like Jenny? She just seems so sneery.
And Tooka is ....?

OP posts:
ikltownofboothlehem · 17/12/2018 17:22

Tooka always seems to say he can make whatever it is they're pitching cheaper in his own factory or via his own contacts.

bluefolder · 17/12/2018 17:23

I like it and it amuses me how people value loss making companies at half a million!

Firstworddinosaur · 17/12/2018 17:26

I love it although I only discovered it a few seasons ago. No one goes with Touka because he asks for 95% of the company for all of the money and free use of his office space in Reading.

AlanThePig · 17/12/2018 17:26

I like the US version Shark Tank on Netflix. They seem to follow up more as well.

Lottapianos · 17/12/2018 17:26

I love Deborah too, she seems like she would be a great person to work with. I don't mind Jenny but don't like any of the others. I think 'Tooka' is Toukar Suleiman Grin

scaredofthecity · 17/12/2018 17:28

I was going to say about toukers bloody office... didn't realise it was in reading Grin

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 17/12/2018 17:38

I prefer Shark Tank. The cast is just better. I’m a bit obsessed to be honest I happily rewatch episodes.

HollowTalk · 17/12/2018 17:46

I think when they ask for a high percentage, they know they'll have to do a hell of a lot of work with the pitcher.

HollowTalk · 17/12/2018 17:46

Oooh never heard of Shark Tank. Is it the same kind of thing?

AviatorShades · 17/12/2018 17:50

Is Deborah an owner of Moonpig? Where did I get that from?

She's pretty weighty these days, isnt she? I pity those horses she ridesShockGrin

BigFatBloomers · 17/12/2018 17:54

^
Really? You have to bring this down to weight?!

Firstworddinosaur · 17/12/2018 17:57

Checking out Shark Tank now, sounds good...

chemenger · 17/12/2018 17:58

Why does every thread on here involving a woman have to include criticism of their personal appearance? It’s not in the least relevant in most cases.

AviatorShades · 17/12/2018 17:58

Well...it's hard to miss, and, as a horse rider, I do wonder about the extra weight....

Oh! Like your username too

AviatorShades · 17/12/2018 17:59

^ that's to bigfatbloomers btw Grin

HollowTalk · 17/12/2018 18:01

@AviatorShades, what a bitchy remark about DM. What makes you write that sort of thing on here?

blueskiesandforests · 17/12/2018 18:09

HollowTalk I'm no longer convinced anyone has really sold their house, I think most of the pitchers are probably full of shit - a family member was on a couple of seasons ago and claimed to have remortgaged "the house" and I happened to know he'd sold his own house several years earlier to pay back debt from a previous get rich quick scheme gone wrong... I wondered exactly who's house he'd remortgaged, because he was living in a rental, and he made it sound as though he was devoting his life to the company but he worked in sales and basically just had an idea and a website, Facebook profile and Twitter account hosted by a social media company who tweeted/ face book posted on his behalf and that of hundreds of other micro start ups! A lot of the time there's nothing but hot air to the companies being pitched.
