I just fell off the table.

Not and AIBU but I am still shaking. Every year I make custom action figures and little toys for DS' Christmas stocking. This is his first year at school, so I've managed to get most of the work done in the mornings. I stash the partially done figures and paints on top of the Christmas cupboards while I work. They've been up there al weekend waiting for some sculpt to dry and I have some fine detailed painting work to do this morning. I dropped DS to school and was there for a while as I had some volunteer stuff to do ahead of the Christmas concert, then had to pick up DM to give her a lift to the dentist.

I finally got home, made a Lemsip, set up my work station at the kitchen table. I realised I'd forgotten the paints, so I stood on the table to grab them. I had 6 bottles of acrylics in my hands as I stepped back, missed the table, tried to swing my foot back to the chair to save myself. Hit the back of the chair, which totally unbalanced and fell. As it fell, I somehow fell backward over it, with my feet on either side and my bum on the back of the chair. The chair fell against the kitchen unit behind it and I slid down the back of the chair and landed sitting straddled on the diagonal chair, that I managed to hop off before it slid to the ground. I'd say it was like a scene from a Harold Lloyd movie!

I'm still in shock. I'd say I've pulled/tensed some muscles and I'll be aching later but compared to how it could have gone I've gotten off super lucky. Especially as none of the paint bottles broke or opened when I dropped them as I fell! Not sure I'll get any detailed paint work done though!

Sorry, but I lol'd at that mental image. Blush

I'm sure you'll start to feel better once you're over the shock, and hopefully damage will be minimal.

I fell off the kitchen worktop once. I was standing on it to paint the ceiling and stepped back to check I hadn't missed any bits - stepped back straight into thin air, and ended up flat on my back on the floor.

I didn't hurt myself, but was overwhelmed with embarrassment, despite being alone in the house.

I fell of a wall while trying to trim a tree. Due to crap eyesight I missed the edge of the wall somehow, as I landed upright I twisted one ankle and because I was on a slope I 'ran' face first into the tree which stopped me falling face first into another wall. I was also in a bed of overgrown prickly shrubs. That was fun, probably more so for the passers by.
