To think that the UK has lost it's moral and ethical compass?

I really believe (hope) future generations will look back on this abuse towards children as one of the biggest scandals of our time.

I rather hope it is within our lifetime that such individuals are held to account

From a governmental perspective it could be argued that the UK has never had a particularly strong moral/ethical compass.
