To wonder what the record is for the amount of posts in a thread before there's an insult?

Housekeeping threads can go pages.

Some threads don't have any. I find the higher education threads incredibly supportive, but they aren't in AIBU

The game threads can go the full 1000 posts with no insults. Outside AIBU there are lots of friendly threads where people just chat.

Yeah, actually you're all right. I think I've been spending too much time in AIBU, Chat and the Christmas thread. I need to mingle more.

It is depressing though. I've got to the point were if I see an unnecessary insult or someone putting words in to a posters comment, or taking it out of context I just leave.

Maybe we need to redress the balance with a boycott of threads with insults

And it's usually about 6 comments in before an LTB. Surprised anyone still has a partner with how quickly everyone seems to leap to insults and dumping. 😂

I posted a thread about having PND and got 400+ replies, none of which were insults and only one of which was anything other than 100% supportive - and she came back and apologised. And this was in AIBU. It's not always a nest of vipers.
