To ask what Secret Santa tat you've been given/seen someone get?

Best yet... My MIL received a bright pink beanie hat (100% Polyester), that says 'Babe' across the front

My own Secret Santa gift was fairly mild and nice - A mug with my initial on and a pair of Christmas socks. My husband received a beer glass and a pint to go with it last year. That went down well. This year, he got a crappy 'Santa lol jokes' booklet and a party popper. He was most displeased after forking out for a nice chutney range set and international tea assortment set.

What horrors have you received/seen someone receive?

I was in an office where a man got 3 mugs with twat on the bottom. He started off laughing it off but by the third he was looking very upset/angry.

I got a hairbrush once which I’m convinced was used 🤢

My MIL got a massive bar of imperial leather soap last year - gotta admit it was hilarious seeing her open it 😂😂😂

Was given 6 eggs, 2 tiny single serving sachets of cheap instant coffee (he drinks nice filter stuff) and a protein bar that was blatantly a freebie from somewhere.

Other gifts in the secret santa were all ovely, we usually spend around £10.

I did quite well out of ours this year with a lovely scented candle in a fragrance I like :) but one of my male colleagues got 3 things all wrapped up together :
A can of Sprite
A carton of orange juice
A small handful of wrapped chocolates in a ziploc bag!!

He was laughing it off but I think he was actually a bit upset :(

I was overlooked one year so the organiser called it off and asked everyone to take their gift back. Another year I got a Ted Baker umbrella which I loved. I can’t abide joke/tat gifts. When there are so many things I’d need/love for the same price or less

someone once gave my boss a whip... one of those that you can whip crack away a la Doris Day. Was very apt, and she did laugh.

Mine at work was a great success - I got a lovely Parker pen, and I bought my SS a lovely costume ring from Tesco, lottery tickets and gin.

My brothers work had a £20 limit and I didn't believe him - so I went to Tesco and bought his SS a beer glass and bottle gift set and a 12 pack of Peroni. My brother got a litre of Jack Daniel's and a lovely mens body lotion set. I felt bad for whoever we bought for!

I've seen and had tat... Last year I got a packet of jaffa, cakes..

A rather nasty scarf from Asda (not even their nice ones) from my then boss "as you like wool and stuff" - I usually wear lace shawls that I knit myself round my neck . I swapped it for a pair of slipper boots for wearing in the caravan.

One year I got nothing. Obviously someone had decided to join in half hearted and then decided not to bother. It was quite hurtful to watch everybody else act delighted at their crappy toiletries gift sets wondering why I was the only one left out. Although reading some of the horrors other people have had bestowed on them I may have been the lucky one...

I always try to buy something nice. This year my SS has pyjamas (£5) asshe loves to wear jammies at home, a nice handcream, massive bar of chocolate and a present for her pet one year I got nothing then a present was put in my desk the next day which was actually very nice. Last SS I did I got the crappiest gift ever that was binned. It was obvious the giver had picked it up in the train station on her way to work that day.

I was once given a shoebox. I had put loads of thought and effort into the gift for my person, but whoever drew me got me a shoebox. It was patterned, and was being marketed as a "photo memory box", but when all was said in done, it was nothing but an empty shoebox.

I got some plastic jewellery from Poundland. I threw it straight in the bin and carried on working.

I worked with someone who once complained to the whole office about the pink soap they got in secret santa. For years afterwards they were given pink soap in the santa - not sure why they opted in after 2 years in a row tbh

A colleague in a nursery was given a second hand wooden shape from the babies play basket in our own baby room.

She cried. We were all furious as she was very young, had no family to buy for her, and had bought a proper gift for the office admin in exchange.
I rang the office to tell the admin person twhat I thought of her, but she'd gone home early. I was going to make her swap.

I got a leopard print onesie - it was hideous.

A few years ago I worked for a place I got no ss gift turned out my boss was my ss and he bought me chocolates as did every year but didn't realise he was supposed to do a ss gift too . I think he just thought not getting her 2 gifts . Another year it had to be a charity shop gift I got really crappy cd was probably about £1 .
I've worked in a company the last few years who don't do ss but this year changed jobs so will see what I get . I always put a bit of thought in gifts so annoys me when no one else does .

DH got a butt pen holder. And a ball scratcher. No, he was not impressed. I got a set of glass coasters one year. I was 21 and not a 'coaster' kind of person. Still don't use them now nearly 20 years later.

I got Sam Bailey from xfactor autobiography. I have no interest in Sam Bailey or xfactor. Plus it was wrapped in paper from the photocopier at work. Everyone else got decent presents and I always put great thought into my secret Santa gifts and generally receive crap ones back. One year I got a box of oven pride😂
