Just that really, 6 months after my 15 year relationship was ended by my DP I've arranged a date with someone new, is it too soon?

Posted in AIBU for traffic, I might regret it!

Doesn't sound too soon to me, but if it feels too soon to you then it probably is.

So long as you take things slowly and look out for red flags, I fail to see why going on a date would be a mistake. Have fun!

You just need to go at your own pace - nobody else’s, if you feel ready and happy to do it - great, have fun! Smile but if you need more time and feel you’re rushing into it, that’s fine too. Whatever works for you.

Go on the date, if it feels that your doing comparisons- it’s to soon. If you go and have a great night, you’ll know

Ty all, I'll go and see. Haven't rushed anything and have enjoyed the virtual flirting over messaging apps 😏.

Good point about the comparison Ivykaty44, it feels different so far, mostly because im so different from 15 years ago, as in I know what I want and I don't feel like I need someone. Any addition to my life needs to be a positive one, and if it's not I'll not do it 😁

Just go and see how you feel!

Enjoy!

6 months isn't really soon at all. It sounds like a good time. :)

AmyDowdensLeftLeftShoe · 16/12/2018 15:11

Go to have some fun and expect nothing to come out of it except that you had a fun time.

You never know you may have fun escaping from the date if he's awful.

Thank you everyone, it's a she for reference 😉

For some reason her parents/sister don't know she's gay, I'll find out why when I see her, but CBA with any drama/secrets, so we'll see...
