What to buy partner's parents?!

Background... boyfriend and I together 3 years, living together and live close by to his parents and see them quite a lot, I know them well (eg. They invited me over for dinner when my boyfriend was working away). I am going to spend Christmas with my parents, him with his.

Last year, I bought his parents a fancy box of their favourite tea and a big box of luxury chocolates. This was a few days before Christmas and the last time I was going to see them before going away. They didnt give me anything.

DP went to see them a few days and came back with a gift bag from them, with an Aldi candle. I know it was definitely regifted...as there is no Aldi in our city and my partner received Aldi gifts from other family members who live elsewhere in the country!

They are very very well off, so not a money issue.

Not sure how relevant the above is, but gives a bit of context.

So I don't want to spend too much this year, but at the same time don't want to be stingy.

What should I get them?!

Really, don't over think this and don't tie yourself up in knots trying to buy the perfect gift. They're quite clearly not. Buy them flowers and chocs or a candle and say, whodda thunk it, we both had the same idea 😁

Am a fan of flowers by post (can get them from Isles of Scilly) which can be timed to arrive after the decs come down. They open a card on Xmas day saying heir gift will arrive on 2 jan or something. Always goes down well and doesn't cost much!
