Just that really. I’ve seen a few threads on social media recently where people have written angry notes on ambulances, etc for blocking them in. Personally, I think emergency vehicles should be able to park wherever and whenever in an emergency and struggle to understand when people get so irate.
Having said that, I feel more conflicted when the vehicles aren’t on an emergency call or when there really are other options available to them. For example, when people write on their notes that there was plenty of space for them to park without blocking anyone’s drive (although I appreciate these people weren’t around when the vehicle actually stopped). I also recently saw a video of a police officer receiving a ticket for parking illegally to pop into a supermarket on their ref break - the response from the public was that this was outrageous and the parking attendant should be sacked.
So AIBU to think that emergency personnel are above criticism when it comes to parking? FWIW I have family connections to the emergency services, so know how hard they work and what they do for us, it’s just something I’ve been pondering.
