Hermes

I am so annoyed. I ordered something for my son the other day and I have received an email saying that Hermes has delivered. I have been in all day and I have not received anything. I have checked around the house and there is nothing there. I have tried to look on the Hermes website but they do not have a telephone number where I can speak to a person.

Delivered to your bin? Thrown in your garden? Thrown in an open shed?

AmyDowdensLeftLeftShoe · 14/12/2018 20:03

Oh and if you live in a house or flat, and there is a house or flat on the same road with the same number but different name check with them after you looked in those places.

having the same issue with yodel, my parcel was apoarently delivered yet i dont have it, and asda who i ordered from are being difficult so dont know whats happening now! it was a xmas present so not impressed!

CloserIAm2Fine · 14/12/2018 20:05

They’re awful

My last parcel from them they claimed to have attempted to deliver but I was sat in my living room with full view of the entrance at the time and nobody even drove near it

When they finally did deliver they sent my GPS tracking so clearly they are capable of telling whether their drivers are lying dicks, they just choose not to care

I hate it when a company I buy from online uses Hermes. They've said delivered when it most blatantly has not been a number of times.
I've also tried myHermes when sending parcels myself. Was not a success.

Bluntness100 · 14/12/2018 20:14

My Hermes person delivers to my garage, because it's easier than walking up to thr house, she knows she's doing it as she has delivered to me at rhe house a couple of times, she does it to be quick I guess,

The first time I was a bit bemused, and had to wander round looking for it, but now when I get thr email saying it's delivered, I know where it is, leaning against the garage wall.

Have another wander round, they can be imaginative,,,

Minniemountain · 14/12/2018 20:17

I hate them.
They slapped my tracking sticker on someone else's parcel. I have no idea where mine is and they can't/won't help. Bastards.

They are top of my Ayra Stark list.

I try to avoid ordering anything from companies that use them. Ordered 2 things from Amazon and they used bloody Hermes to deliver.

Both parcels they tried to deliver during working hours and I work FT. Any other courier leaves in my safe place or with neighbour. Not Hermes.

All three times they left a card with no number on to contact to arrange delivery to a different address. Spent 200 years on hold to their customer service to be told as the drivers are self employed they don't have to provide them. Also told my safe place wasn't safe enough and they would try to contact the driver with my alternative delivery address (work) but couldn't guarantee it.

Tried leaving notes on the door - they ignored them. Never got either parcel (both birthday presents for DS) STILL haven't had one refunded 2 weeks later so now wasting time with Amazon's helpline.

Will never, ever knowingly use them.

DesireAs · 14/12/2018 20:20

The same happened to me. I contacted them via Live Chat - had to wait in a queue for a while but once I got through they were actually very helpful. They contact the driver, and if they fail to respond (as in my case), they raise it with the driver's manager. My parcel appeared through the letterbox 3 days later & I received an emailed apology from Hermes. Worth a try?

Nettletheelf · 14/12/2018 20:22

Oh they are useless. They claimed to have delivered £250 worth of stuff to me when they hadn’t, and they made up a name of a neighbour - whose address they couldn’t even state - who had allegedly signed for it. None of them had, of course.

I never saw my parcel. I found the name of Hermes’ CEO and raised a formal complaint. Then the driver’s mum came to my house and started shouting at me and calling me unreasonable because her son, who had lost/nicked the parcel, was “very busy and under a lot of stress”. Feck off! Talk about unprofessional.

The retailer should refund you. Karen Millen did, straight away, in the example above. The retailer is better placed to put pressure on Hermes because the retailer is their customer, not us.

fringegrin45 · 14/12/2018 20:23

No idea which delivery company or when but I opened he door tonight and a parcel dropped down from behind the wreath on my door!

Talk about creative.

So do play hunt the thimble around your house!

Theweasleytwins · 14/12/2018 20:40

Often on my local facebay people ask who the local herpes (what dh calls them) courier is. I think there is a co-ordinatir who can help sort things out/knows who delivers where

lmza · 14/12/2018 20:47

Thank you for all of the comments and the email address. I have sent an email and hope I will hear something soon.

Just a quick update - I must have had some kind neighbour this afternoon as my order was waiting for me at the door.
