I rather need advice!
I've name changed as I've seen another parent post about what I believe is the same situation and I have been vague about my child's details for the same reason but they are in their final year so school movement is not an option.
A 15 year old student has joined my DC school after being expelled for violence and bullying from a previous school. The violence, disruption and threats have continued at this school.
Various students have raised issues and been told the teenager has had a difficult life. The teenager was allowed to go on a trip today despite constant disruption in class, threats and violence which involved goading and attacking another student and a day exclusion last week for violent behaviour. They have also not been in class a day this week for the same kind of behaviour.
Incidently the teenager who was threatened and who retaliated was not allowed to go. My own DC is furious about this.
My DC has been on the recieving end of some behaviour from this student although verbally at this stage and is now stating that they don't feel confident in the school to do anything to protect them based on previous incidents with this student and therefore as they do not feel safe in school.
This has resulted in them refusing to stay in class if the other student are there. My own child has some learning needs and previous bullying experience which I know is compounding the situation.
How if at all can I expect school to handle this matter?
