To use leftovers of mince cooked on the use by date?

We didn't have time to do a full food shop this week so DH went to the shop on Tuesday night and got chicken to use last night and mince for today and tomorrow. I was going to make the leftovers into cottage pie tomorrow but I've just taken it out to cook and the use by date is today. Will it be OK to use tomorrow as well, if cooked today?

Yes.

I ignore use by dates - use your nose instead! If the mince is pink and smells normal, it's fine! Cooked meat lasts a good few days.

Of couse it will. Cooking changes everything. I'm amazed that you didn't know this - no wonder there's so much needless food waste

It’ll be fine

Inspector, no need to be rude, I thought this was the case, I just wanted to be sure. I've had a traumatic week and not able to think straight.

Will be fine. I do this all the time.

Plus I wouldn't have wasted it, I would have frozen it tonight after cooking it. I don't waste food. Thanks everyone

Once it looks and smells okay OP, it should be fine.
