Would ibu to just stop paying him now? I came home to another invoice for the house windows being washed today even though I have told him twice I do not want them done anymore

I’d probably pay this time, and text them to say that as previously advised, you no longer need the cleaning done, and will not pay any future invoices.

chumbal · 13/12/2018 15:19

I would text & confirm you no longer want them done!

Perhaps pay this bill & confirm this is the last time you will pay Wink

Lizadork · 13/12/2018 15:19

Put a note in window that you don't require their services, just as a reminder. Not sure what to do about invoice but certainly their mistake. Do you have proof of telling them in writing? Text/email.

Namestheyareachangin · 13/12/2018 15:23

That's nice of him. Do not pay.

Soubriquet · 13/12/2018 15:23

Does he have written proof or just your word?

If written, don’t pay and point out you terminated their services.

If just verbal, pay this time but with a written note notifying you are terminating their services and no longer need your windows cleaning

theworldistoosmall · 13/12/2018 15:24

I would text -

Hi, I have just received an invoice for my windows washing why? I explained on the xx and xx that we no longer require this service.

And no I wouldn't pay. Not your fault they are continuing to do this.

Mickeysminnie2 · 13/12/2018 15:26

If this is the third time he has done it since you cancelled I would just not pay.
Did you reiterate the cancel to him the previous times?

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 13/12/2018 15:32

If you have written communication with him stating you no longer need his services then absolutely do not pay him. You don't want them doing and have asked him not to so the fact he's gone ahead and done it any way is not your problem. Of course this is much harder to prove if you have no written communication cancelling the service.

I had something similar only it was a cash in hand verbal agreement.

Was great at first but after a while I noticed the work was taking less time and the last few times he said he had done them they honestly didn't look like he had.

I told him to stop and he tried it on again saying he'd cleaned my windows (he clearly hadn't). I politely told him I hadn't asked him to do the work so I wouldn't be paying him and that was the end of that.

LittleCandle · 13/12/2018 17:54

We had the same thing with our last window cleaner. There were a number of issues, including charging us for cleaning the windows when they hadn't been done (I was at home, so knew that), plus they twice knocked our satellite dish out of alignment. He came back and cleaned the windows after we told him not to and was most indignant that we did not pay him. He knew not to come back, so it was his problem not ours. Stand firm, OP and don't pay!

ThatThingYouDo · 13/12/2018 17:59

If you stop paying I guarantee they will stop cleaning your windows!

Topseyt · 13/12/2018 18:00

Don't pay at all this time. He is being a cheeky fucker and banking on you paying up without arguing. If you do then he will be back again and again.

Tell him that as you already specifically cancelled his services twice you will no longer be paying him. Then just close the door without further discussion.

possumgoddess · 14/12/2018 18:18

I wish I had your problem 😞 Officially I still have a window cleaner but he hasn't been for months and hasn't responded to my email asking when he is coming next. So in fact I probably don't have a window cleaner.....

AGHHHH · 14/12/2018 23:49

You've told him twice. Why is he still doing it? I wouldn't pay him.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 15/12/2018 01:14

What is it with window cleaners? We had one once and he was horrible and got quite aggressive when we told him we didn't want him coming back.
