AIBU to be pissed off with my daughters school

The school has a 1 stud per ear policy, my daughter has her two lower lobes done. She takes them out for school, but is routinely checked daily by her form tutor. The tutor forces her to move the hair from her ears or she risks exclusion
There are other girls I've seen within school grounds dropping her off, with heavily pierced ears. One girl she knows has not been told off and has her hair constantly tied up. Shes very popular
My daughter is fed up of being the only one picked on when other girls have a hell of a lot more.
Shes just upset with it and so am i

Her tutor is enforcing the rules, it's not her fault if other tutors don't. YABU to be pissed off

This seems to be a trivial matter to get worked up about.

Teach your DD that life is unfair and there are so many injustices in the world much more worthy of complaint than whether or not you can wear earrings at school.

@MollyHuaCha I don't agree. Rules are only respected by their subjects if they are applied fairly across the board, and are seen to be so.

OP, I think YANBU. Whilst it is right that OP's DD's teacher does follow the rules, it is not right that other teachers do not. So it needs some sort of feedback to be given to the school (but not DD's teacher, it's actually a management issue). If they aren't going to enforce the rule to everyone, they shouldn't have the rule. It's a school rule, not a class rule.

I would complain. Children are entitled to fair and equal treatment at school. She has plenty of time to learn that life isn't always fair - in her place of education she has a right to expect fairness.
