Just curious as to if you got yours from DWP (PIP etc). When? And what amazing thing you bought with it? Grin
Mine came yesterday and I bought electric and gas top ups, chocolate and painkillers.

WhyDontYouComeOnOver · 13/12/2018 16:14

Alright for some

Are you fucking serious right now?

Chloe84 · 13/12/2018 16:14

Thanks @Bluesmartiesarethebest

I think it's absolutely disgusting people are getting £10

Because £10 is nowhere near enough and I wish we as a country gave £100.

smore · 13/12/2018 16:22

Fucking hell this thread.

@Ubertasha2 do you have coffee available? Fruit schemes? A Christmas party? Team lunches?

I'd imagine anyone in a role which allows them to live without any topping up from benefits will have more than a tenner's worth of something like the above.

But even if you don't. Do you really begrudge a disabled person, single parent or anyone struggling £10 at Christmas?!

'Alright for some' is probably the most callous thing I've read on here lately. I'm desperately hoping you've not RTFT, surely no one is that much of a ... ?

smore · 13/12/2018 16:23

@Ubertasha2 When the 'some' you're referring to have said upthread they have disabled children, brain injuries and terminal cancer ... Um yeah, there's a lot wrong with saying that Hmm

Sunshineandshowers81 · 13/12/2018 16:25

I've spent mine on some nice coffee pods for my Nespresso machine 😁 two of my children get DLA and the third doesn't (she doesn't have a disability so doesnr need it) the two that do get theirs like to also share with their sister so the £20 they get goes 3 ways

Ubertasha2 · 13/12/2018 16:26

I get none of those lovely things, smore, in the job I’m in.

Don’t take it to that place. I have not had a go at people on benefits which is what you’re implying. I think it’s lovely people get this bonus, but a larger sum would be more helpful to them.

But yes, I work very hard, 60/70 hours a week. I get no benefits or bonuses for working. Is that what you want to know?

JudasPrudy · 13/12/2018 16:27

'Wtf? Is this thread for real? £10 Bonus? Why not add on a 0, and make it £100? Ha! In my work, I don’t think I’ve ever received a bonus!

Alright for some!'

I wonder why you've never received a bonus when you clearly have such a kind, positive attitude towards others Xmas Smile

ExcitedForChristmas18 · 13/12/2018 16:27

@whydontyoucomeover don't lower yourself to these idiots. They are purposely trying to provoke us.
They are cruel and wicked.

They wonder why they don't get a bonus from work?! Hmm 🤔

TwistedStitch · 13/12/2018 16:34

Why do these nasty little goaders try to backtrack as soon as they are called out on their spite? 'Alright for some!' when you are talking about people who are disabled, full time carers for their kids who are disabled, and even terminally ill. Piss off.

ExcitedForChristmas18 · 13/12/2018 16:39

Can everybody just report them. I'm disabled and find it hard to hear. I can't imagine what it's like for people with disabled innocent children, or the terminally ill. This is not acceptable.

Bunnymumma · 13/12/2018 16:39

Fa la la la laaaa, la fuck off trolls!

It's not much but I imagine that tenner exceptionally gratefully received and needn't be mocked by entitled people who begrudge being fit and well enough to be able to fully support themselves.

LadyDeadpool · 13/12/2018 16:39

Fuck off Ubertasha you have no idea what day to day life is like for those of us receiving the "bonus" of fucking £10 which is what 2 or 3 days heating? 2 days of bus fare? a box of washing powder.

Such luxury I guess it is all right for us.

WhyDontYouComeOnOver · 13/12/2018 16:40

True excited. It just pisses me off when I've worked all my life, never had a bonus, am now disabled and can't even afford to keep my house warm this winter and people come on and say "alright for some" over ten pounds.

Oh, and Mumsnet won't delete it because apparently it's not bad to say that.

TwistedStitch · 13/12/2018 16:43

They've deleted quite a few nasty posts at the start of this thread so they might.

WhyDontYouComeOnOver · 13/12/2018 16:46

They've messaged me to say they won't.

ExcitedForChristmas18 · 13/12/2018 16:46

It just proves to me, we are such a long way off being treated fairly in this world.
It's absolutely disgusting, people can get away with saying such awful things.
After reading on here about children with severe disabilities, life limiting illnesses, to still write such horrific words. Its beyond evil.

theaccidentaleconomist · 13/12/2018 16:47

It's 100 percent of your core payment here in Ireland.

gamerchick · 13/12/2018 16:57

It's utterly bizarre that I've now been roasted for feeling sad that I don't recieve a bit more help when I need it by people who by their very nature advocate help where it's needed - and why? Because I work

You do know pip own means tested don't you? Lots of people who receive it work.

gamerchick · 13/12/2018 16:57

*isn't

Santasushi · 13/12/2018 16:58

I think people probably aren’t reading the thread. They are getting their knickers in a twist without reading.

I’m glad that people get £10. It’s a measly amount but it’s still a nice gesture.

FWIW I work for the nhs, my boss gives us chocolates which I’m delighted with Grin

totallycluelessoverhere · 13/12/2018 16:58

I’m going to put mine in the fund we are trying to save to replace our motability car. The cheapest car on the scheme which will meet our needs requires a £1200 deposit. £1200 isn’t easy to find when you have given up your job to be a carer because social care can’t provide anything like appropriate care services Sad

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 13/12/2018 17:04

Give it a rest would you? All those moaning about benefits and £10 extra. I would joyfully give up my son’s disability benefit if it meant he was “normal” and had an average childhood and adult life. He does not. He never will. When I’m gone, he’ll be dependent on the kindness of strangers which is pretty fucking scarce, it seems.

OP, I’m not sure what I’ll blow it on! It won’t be kicking up my heels, that’s for sure. I’m too knackered and isolated looking after my son.

KennDodd · 13/12/2018 17:05

I'm glad people get a £10 bonus, it shouldn't just be PIP though, it should be all benefit claimants. FWTW I work full time for a low wage and get nothing, I don't begrudge the £10 for a second. People on benefits are not rich, that £10 will go straight back into the economy.
