Just curious as to if you got yours from DWP (PIP etc). When? And what amazing thing you bought with it? Grin
Mine came yesterday and I bought electric and gas top ups, chocolate and painkillers.

Yep OK. You’re all right. I think from now on I won’t bother.

Edwinbear genuinely curious- what other threads have you gone on where people are talking about stuff they are buying and lectured them like this? Or is your anger reserved for disabled people, unpaid carers and those who are terminally ill?

sobeyondthehills · 14/12/2018 23:21

I spent it on a Mr Potato Head for my 6 year DS

In the last year, due to my mental health we have a lot of service involved, we lost our house, have been homeless, moved twice and he has not complained once, instead of the 2 minute walk to the school he use to have he now has a nearly 3 mile walk one way, because we can't afford the bus.

He has asked Santa for a lot of things this year but he really wants a Mr Potato Head.

I am not ashamed of this but at points this thread is disgusting

longwayoff · 14/12/2018 23:22

Really Edwin, you can't have it both ways. Being a bloated capitalist sucking up bottles of pink wine (? Really? Dear me) AND dragging your kids to volunteer at homeless charity on Christmas Day? Who are you? Jacob Rees Mogg? Anyway, I expect there's a queue forming awaiting your patronage so don't let me detain you. Hope Marley's ghost doesn't interrupt your sleep.

Tiredmumno1 · 14/12/2018 23:23

You can't do that you have to give Mr Potato Head to Edwin, so she can shove that up her arse too, she can shit out chips for the next for the homeless.

CheshireChat · 14/12/2018 23:23

Aaagh, what's wrong with people?! This thread is horrible, why hasn't it been zapped?!

I thought I could get some inspiration for a small treat for myself, but now I feel I need bleach for my eyes.

Mind you, I'm so out of it ai read that a PP had Mac and cheese with hazelnut chocolate and was judging her taste buds, reread it and it sounds quite nice Xmas Grin.

edwinbear that sort of statement could've gone on any other thread where people are enjoying genuine luxuries, not here. You know, like £100 for some cheese and wine, which you could get for something like £20 and not even miss out on much. But a disabled kid shouldn't go to panto at all...

Ginandsonicscrewdriver · 14/12/2018 23:23

Still want to know what people on pip have done to earn your disdain.

Tiredmumno1 · 14/12/2018 23:23

next year

ladydickisathingapparently · 14/12/2018 23:25

Hey guys don’t be mean to Edwinbear. Just £10 could buy an Edwinbear a tiny slice of genuine French cheese from that quality cheeseboard this Christmas or a sip of Veuve. Will you think of posters like Edwinbear at Christmas? Or will you be selfishly taking your children to a pantomime at public expense? Hmm

TwistedStitch · 14/12/2018 23:27

Anybody else just picture a sad faced teddy bear doing a charity appeal for cheese?Grin

ladydickisathingapparently · 14/12/2018 23:29

A sad faced teddy choking back Aldi cheese and prosecco....

recklessruby · 14/12/2018 23:29

I m too busy selfishly stuffing my face with a twix bar to donate. Sorry. HmmSmile

Twisted I’m not trying to lecture, I’m really not. But I genuinely spend many, many hours volunteering at a homeless charity where men, women and kids walk in having not eaten for days. They are cold, hungry and scared. The kids have not been vaccinated because they’re not ‘in the system’. Mum is sometimes suffering from PND but cannot access health care because she’s on the streets. The kids don’t have access to a health visitor or education because their homeless so not ‘in the system’. But I’m being vilified here so will leave you all to it.

TwistedStitch · 14/12/2018 23:35

Edwinbear that is absolutely terrible. And I'm wondering why it is the responsibility of another vulnerable group of people who are disproportionately likely to be in poverty? Why do you think it's okay to tell somebody on disability benefits that they shouldn't eat a chocolate bar, or another poster that they shouldn't take their disabled child to a panto?

Spikeyball · 14/12/2018 23:36

I'd hate to be so dead inside that I would spend my evenings attacking vulnerable people.

Samcro · 14/12/2018 23:37

edwinbear people do care about homeless people . but this is the wrong "room" you need to pop on a different thread. rather than picking this one.
this one is about people who are already struggling and making light of it.
walk a day in the shoes of people like the OP ........

puddled2 · 14/12/2018 23:37

I think it's mean a tenner really !! Suppose it's better than nothing though

Tiredmumno1 · 14/12/2018 23:38

I really would like to know the answer to that question too, surely there are other people you could be annoying that would be in a better position to help. Why here? I don't get it Hmm

We get an extra 10 pound to I can’t believe people begrudge it
We get it because DD5 gets high rate disability and has a life limiting illness that leaves her fighting for her life and requiring 24 hour care.
I lost my career , my home , my partner and I am now “ just a carer” apparently
I spend the 10 pound towards a cinema trip for DD and I.

Want to swap lives for 10 pound ???

TwistedStitch · 14/12/2018 23:39

And you are being villified because of your hypocrisy. Nobody would give a shit if you ate your weight in stilton were it not for the fact that you are begrudging others a far more modest 'luxury' than the ones you were bragging about.

DaisyDreaming · 14/12/2018 23:40

Towards the £400 wheelchair batteries as they have died after only 9 months.

Interesting the poster who said it’s been £10 for decades and that it was worth a lot when first introduced
