Posting here for traffic or would it be better in the staff room?? My DD has a male teacher this year (I’m guessing in his 30’s) what on earth do you get male teachers?? I’m a teacher myself but I haven’t worked with many males and I also don’t drink so I wouldn’t buy someone alcohol (I just don’t find it appropriate) he’s a quiet enough guy. I also know randomly that he doesn’t like coffee. HELP!?

Useful stationery, same as for their female teachers. Board pens, glue sticks. We have some job shares, plus the support staff, so something that helps classroom life run more smoothly benefits all of the team. Plus it saves teacher subbing it from tgeir own pocket which inevitably happens when supplies run out.

Bumper Joke Book.

Chocolate.

Coffee.

JustABetterPlayer · 13/12/2018 12:22

Chocolate orange, you can never get too many!

Or chocolate

....More chocolate

Canibuildasnowman · 13/12/2018 12:23

Deffo not the big frilly girly pressie that you get the female teachers. How about a cigar or a nice big knife?

Allthewaves · 13/12/2018 12:25

Nice xmas ornament

steff13 · 13/12/2018 12:26

My daughter's teacher is a man, also in his 30s. We got him a Tervis tumbler with his favorite football team's logo on it.

Sethis · 13/12/2018 12:27

Male teacher age 31 here.

Red wine if possible. Cake/biscuits/chocolate otherwise.

I already have all my own stationary so gifted pens and whatnot tends to end up in my desk at home where it will probably stay until the end of infinity.

If you're concerned about what he can or cannot eat or drink then an amazon voucher is always appreciated from anyone.

CaliHummers · 13/12/2018 12:27

I know there are people who LOVE stationary (DW for instance....), but why pens?

steff13 · 13/12/2018 12:27

That's actually the same thing we got her female teacher last year, except hers was teacher themed (I'm not sure if she has a favorite sports team) and I had her name put on it.

sallysummer · 13/12/2018 12:35

It's most likely a green pen for marking these days. We joke that you always know a fellow teacher when out and about because they produce a green pen when asked for a pen Grin

Male teacher colleagues often get bottles of whisky.

sollyfromsurrey · 13/12/2018 12:36

Novelty mug. Not a crazy tacky one but one that says something appropriate for a teacher. Actually that's s not tacky isn't it Grin

MirandaGoshawk · 13/12/2018 12:37

Teachers on here can't spell stationery Shock!

Excited101 · 13/12/2018 12:37

Something for his penis

neveradullmoment99 · 13/12/2018 12:38

My dd’s male teacher is getting Lego. We’ve pooled all the money and he’s getting a big technical set. To be fair, he was asked what he’d like as he doesn’t drink and is allergic to nuts/doesn’t eat chocolate.

I think people should ask all teachers, not just the men, whilst some might like flowers, chocolate or candles, some won’t and it’s a shame to give gifts that the recipient won’t enjoy.

Bluetrews25 · 13/12/2018 12:41

Loving Diego's tractors, dinosaurs or football related ones, or another PPs big knife suggestion! Grin (to use at home, I hope!)
Rural Ireland? Welly socks?? Waterproof groundsheet? Gloves?

Lichtie · 13/12/2018 12:41

Same as a female teacher.... Nothing 😳
I've never bothered with presents for teachers, now I feel guilty (I'll get over it)

caringcarer · 13/12/2018 12:46

Travel mug with lid. Lots of teachers use these when on break duty.
We got my sons favourite GCSE level Maths teacher a tie with Maths things on it which he wore a lot at school.
Ferarri Key ring for teacher that had very old car almost falling apart.

Whynotnowbaby · 13/12/2018 12:54

These threads always make me feel a bit jealous as a secondary teacher who may receive a token from departing sixth formers but otherwise nothing. Anyway- naval gazing aside - I had a lovely good quality glass water bottle with my name on it from one of my lovely sixth formers in June. I use it every day and love that it is sturdy and free of dodgy plastics.

Firstty · 13/12/2018 13:12

I have a male teacher DP. He gets lots and lots of chocolate and mugs (both appreciated but we're running out of room for the bloody mugs and he wont throw any away). Vouchers are always appreciated - you say he doesn't like coffee so maybe not costa! but amazon or similar would be great.

JammieCodger · 13/12/2018 13:14

I've always just got the children to make christmas decorations and a card for their teachers.

ElBandito · 13/12/2018 13:16

Chewing tobacco and a spittoon.

Maybe a mug? Biscuits?
I thought though that schools had new policies where teachers were unable to accept gifts. It’s ridiculous though. Everything seems to be associated with possible grooming, etc nowadays.
