AIBU to hate Facetime

DD16 face times with her DF and half sibling nearly every night. Fine with me in that respect

But she has a habit of taking the phone and walking around the house while she’s on it. All the chores not been done on display (messy house) and this evening I was in just a towel out of the bath walking into my bedroom when she comes running up the stairs on FaceTime. I said NO sternly to coming up the stairs. I was naked!

I feel so uncomfortable with FaceTime in this respect like it’s very intrusive and uninvited to have my ex basically looking into our house every evening. FYI I have said she can FaceTime in her room or give me prior warning. It’s my home not his and I don’t feel at all comfortable. AIBU or a precious snowflake?

DD once passed me her phone whilst speaking to her friend, she thrust it at me to make arrangements with her friends mum for a sleepover. I was hoovering on my pyjamas at the time and had never met this other mum before.
YANBU.

of course you are not BU, asking for prior warning at the very least is completely reasonable. Agree on either a time or better, a place, downstairs would work!

I doubt a 16 year old would be terribly happy to be live with her boyfriend or school mates without any warning. Ask her how she would feel.

YANBU I've told DD1 that if she dares video chat anywhere other than the designated spots (an always tidy part of the living room or her bedroom) then I'll start taking embarrassing photos of her and splashing them all over Instagram making sure I tag her in the process.

Oddly enough she seems to manage to leave the rest of us out of her video chats now Grin
