Is there a dentist in the house? AIBU to want a second opinion?

I had a tooth extracted last week and I'm having issues with it, so much so that I have been back to the dentist's three times since last Wednesday and have to go in again later in the week for some pretty invasive surgery as a result of the extraction.

Is anyone on here a dentist and able to let me know if my experience is normal or whether I should push for a hospital referral?

What are the issues? What is the surgery you are having? It's difficult to say without knowing what's going on.

It depends really on what's going on, if your not confident in your dentist then a second opinion is never a bad thing. It will also depend on your dentists experience as they might be just as good as the hospital however your dentist can't make you have work done by them and you always have the option to visit another dentist if you want.
