I have 2, my first crush, and then my first relationship.
I would easily marry either of them today if they asked me lol.
I just never really got over them.
Yes, of course I've gotten over them, but they changed me. The heartbreak changed me.

No. I can honestly say that I've never had my heartbroken.

kittencatmeow · 11/12/2018 02:54

One ex who if he did return I would marry tomorrow

He won't though

One ex who if I could rewind time I would run away as far as I could from the church (as long as I could still somehow have DS)

Probably not over both but for very different reasons... one was lovely and one was very very very horrible

SoleBizzz · 11/12/2018 03:43

All of my ex lovers have been utter bastards. The last one was something else. A real liar, manipulator, user, thief. He stole my car with my passport and driving license. Then i discovered he was married. I still ten years on cannot get over what he did to me. I hate myself for being frightened to tell him to go.

No man has ever loved me, my Father broke my heart as he seriously disliked me and verbally and emotionally abused me.

Right now i cant stop thinking about what has happened and want to die. I really don't want to be here anymore.

Extrastout · 11/12/2018 04:16

Solebizz, in my experience, you gotta pick your sorry ass back up and get on with life. Not easy, but it pays off.

@SoleBizzz I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. I'm sure you're wrong and that there are plenty of people who love you very much.
Have you felt this way for a long time? Please go and talk to your gp. They will help if you tell them you're feeling low x

Want2bSupermum · 11/12/2018 04:47

Sole Please take your post and show it to your GP. Given what's happened in your life it's no wonder you feel so low. You have been very badly let down and I hope you are able to get the help so you can build a positive and happy life for yourself. Women's Aid are also a very good group with help for adult women who have suffered from abuse.

@Extrastout

Similarly, my first crush, I'm obviously over it and we are now great friends but I often wonder what life would be like if we hadn't been so chicken in our teens. (Usually when things are a bit shit in my own life)

Also my first great love. Never got over the heartbreak of that one. He was a right bastard looking back, but at the time, with rose tinted glasses, I would have spent forever with him.

I think once you truly love someone, a little piece of you will always love them regardless of what happened, how happy you are now, etc etc.

When my ex dumped me, I thought at the time I’d never get over it. I was so devastated. But now that I am with my husband, I look back and I can’t even remember what it was like to feel that way. My eyes have been well and truly opened to how unsuited my ex and I were (he wasn’t horrible - but I spent the entire relationship pretending to be someone I thought he would want). I am so grateful now that he dumped me, because who knows how long I would have stayed otherwise. Now that I’m with the right person, I can’t even access the feelings I used to have for my ex.

Maybe this will give you some hope that you won’t always feel this way - you could meet the right person and those feelings for your ex will just dissolve!

ItsClemFandangoCanYouHearMe · 11/12/2018 07:00

There's an ex who crosses my mind often. We weren't well suited but he just felt so right, even though with hindsight it was never going to work.

That being said, I've married the love of my life. I wouldn't change him for anything but I just can never quite forget my first love.

Ladymargarethall · 11/12/2018 07:12

My first real boyfriend. I can still remember the reg of his motorbike! Every time I hear certain songs I have a wave of nostalgia.

Shadow1986 · 11/12/2018 07:18

Not an ex or anything but once met a guy on a night out on holiday, I was pretty drunk and managed to loose my friends and he really looked after me. He was on a boys holiday and I’d come across their group a couple of times. We ended up sitting at a bus stop talking for hours. There was something about him that I really liked. I’d told him how I’d forgotten to bring hairspray with me and it was annoying my friends keep using theirs and he was trying to find a shop open to buy me hairspray. Never got his number. Saw him again at the airport and he come up to talk and say goodbye but both too shy to ask for each other’s numbers. Definitely felt like I’d missed out on something there.

Hey @SoleBizzz Hope you're feeling better this morning. I find the dead of night to be a particularly awful time. I call between 2am and 5am the witching hours. It's where dark thoughts creep in. 2pm to 5pm fine. Same hours in the middle of the night? It's where the thin line between sanity and madness seems to dissolve.
Hope you're up and at it and feeling much better today!
There's always hope. I've never been married. I could write myself off entirely. But I get up and I live and I hope and I fight another day. You will too.

I have massive regret over not splitting up with my boyfriend for a man I madly fancied and drunkenly snogged 15 years ago. It's become a bit of a destructive obsession

ChristmasRaven · 11/12/2018 12:44

There's a guy I still think of, I think he was my one true love! But I know he went down a destructive path in life so I would never have been happy with him. I can't tell you what it is about him in particular that still melts my heart and I could never be with him because of how he is. But I do still think of him here and there and wonder what could have been!
