WIBU to take more than prescribed at the moment? I'm prescribed one in the am, one in the pm.

My stomach feels raw and nauseous. Wibu to take an extra one a day in the middle of the day? Would it help?

I’ve been on it previously and would just take it whenever I felt I needed it. Defo took more than 2 a day at times. Turns out I had gallstones so had my gallbladder removed and things cleared up! Might be worth a chat with your dr just to double check. They’re best to advise on upping the dose xx

If its not helping Id go back to your doctor and discuss it. I wouldnt just take extra willy nilly
Your doctor would want to know if you still have symptoms

The usual dose is once a day( at least for everyone
I know taking it)

I was started on one a day and hospital upped it to twice a day about a year ago. Now I'm feeling symptoms in the middle of the day, or the morning one just doesn't seem to be having any effect.
I don't actually know what lanzsoprazole is. Is it an ant-acid? That's why I'm asking whether upping the dose might be counterproductive.

Its a proton pump inhibitor - don’t take too much of it without discussing with doctor. Iirc it can cause liver damage if you take too much. Try rantidine or gaviscon in the middle of the day (if you can have them obv) instead? I take 2 at night rather than splitting them.

It’s worth speaking to your gp - after 6 years on omeprazole I swapped yo lanaoprazole as the omeprazole wasn’t working.

My little boy is on Lansoperazole (15mg) once a day he’s 2.5yrs old and takes it as he has GastroOesophageal reflux disease. It’s a proton pump inhibitor and I definitely wouldn’t take a higher dose without speaking to your consultant! Try Zantac (Ranitidine) until you can manage to speak to a doctor about it.
