Mixing codeine with flueoxtine

AIBU to be mixing co codomol 30mg with fluoxetine 40mg which is a antidepressant. I've been on SSRI 8 weeks now and my doc gave me codeine because I also have arthritis but the thing is am taking it even when am not in pain because I just want to be happier like I used to be and even though being on antidepressants I still don't feel 100 percent. Will it mess around with the antidepressants and my recovery especially when I've come so far 8 weeks and feeling 60 percent better. Advice would be apperciated

No, please only use the codine for pain. It’s such an addictive drug that will not help you in the long run

Oh love, I understand why you feel like that, I'm on both and i loved the fleeting euphoria the codeine gave me. But it is just that, fleeting. It makes you so tired you'll want to start taking more and more to chase that high. It's not at all worth it.

If you feel you need to maybe you could ask your doctor about maybe upping your fluoxetine dose.

Thank you for your advice ladies xxx I think il go back to doctors and maybe go up to 60mg am just scared of side effects starting all over again but than again am not coping so well in my head. It's like depression is lifting but in my head am still lost and am in a constant battle with my brain..!!
