To go back to the hairdresser?

I went to a hairdresser that I have used a few times on Saturday, for a cut/colour. My hair had not been coloured in a while, so I had a consultation prior to my appointment. I took a photo of the colour/style that I wanted, and she assured me that it was an easy job. (my hair was a grown out, very light brown, and I wanted a blonde balayage)

After I had had it done, I wasn't completely happy with it - you actually couldn't really see that much of a difference, certainly no light blonde that I had asked for. At the time, I guess I got a bit shy/embarrassed (as the hairdresser was lovely), and I was also a bit rushed by staff as the salon was meant to close 15 minutes before, yet myself and a number of others were still having their hair done.

WIBU to go back and ask them to do it again? Have I blown it by leaving at the time without saying anything?

I will add - it isn't just me who thinks there is no difference, my MIL even said "I thought you were getting your hair done yesterday" when I saw her the day after.... Blush

This is about the third post on exactly the same balayage disappointment in about two weeks.

No YANBU to go back. You’re not happy with it.

Go back op, if you are feeling too shy to confront them then take a friend or even MIL who can vouch that your hair looks no different,

Could have written your post OP. Not exactly sure what happened but the hairdresser wasn’t happy with the initial results when it was washed out so added toner to make it more subtle. I left ££ lighter and looking exactly the same as I went in. I was told it looked great would lift in time Hmm I felt a bit Emperors New Clothes about it all.

Please let us know how you get on. I need someone to push me to go back.
