I want s new knife for me and me alone. Cooking not anything sinister. It can’t be too big but not do I want a small paring knife. My favourite knife is one I got free with Good Food magazine - grey handled by A brand I can’t remember but it’s kind of a middle size and I love it. But it’s dying. I don’t want a cleaver or a huge one but I need something sharp, yet not heavy and easy to handle. Help!

My husband and I have our own separate selections and preferences. If I ever pass him one of mine, he pulls a face and says it feels wrong! I use a Zwilling pro chefs knife for most proper meal cooking, and have a little selection of small Victorinox knives that I bought in Switzerland and love for cutting up cheese/tomatoes/sandwich type quick foods. I use an OXO bread knife which was pretty cheap, but I much prefer it over my DH’s victorinox one as his is too heavy to cut bread IMO. I’ve only really just properly considered the fact that we have separate knives. We’re obviously weird!

iird KD knives have a micro serrated edge so aren't sharpenable, (if there is such a word).

I have a Global that I was bought as a wedding present. It gets used every single day and it still going strong after 17 years.
