To ask if anyone here will personally benefit from a no deal Brexit and if so, how?

I'm struggling to see any benefits for the country as a whole for a no deal Brexit, but reading on another thread about house prices dropping 30% being good news for potential FTBs (although not sure it's that simple in that case) - would anyone here personally benefit from a no deal Brexit? And if so how?

Well it’s not clear what the result of a no deal would be. But if it was an economic crisis that would be great for us. We’ve held off buying a house in the expectation of a drop prices regardless (peak cycle in our area) but a crash would be quite advantageous. DH does some work in insolvency so there would be more work coming in from at direction to compensate for lost income in other areas so not a net benefit but we’d be ok.

Hi, Philip May here, Theresa's other half and investment relationship manager.

Trust me, my clients, and indeed myself, trading in offshore currency-based investments, assets and securities will be very very fine.

I'm sure it's all declared in Theresa's register of interests.

I always thought that if there was a price crash there would be fewer houses on the market because people would find themselves in negative equity, so whilst there might be some movement in prices, many people may not be able to afford to sell?

Depends if people can pay those mortgages or not, ie how the Brexit shitshow affects employment, wages, prices, etc. Where you have a glut of repossessions, cash buyers move in.

Glad to hear it Phil, it's not what you know it's who you know hey Grin

YY and banks are going to lend to fewer and fewer people, probably only ones who are whiter than white and have 45% deposit!

Phillip May and all their cronies will definitely be just fine.
