Birthday Blues

It was my birthday yesterday. DH made me a cuppa in bed, then went off to work, but would be finishing early as its weekend. Got out of bed, card waiting for me. Nice :)
When he came home from work, we had a quick bite to eat, as were going out to a friends for a xmas do. Was beginning to wonder where my pressie was ( had requested some perfume/flowers/choc - nothing much!)...but nothing. Maybe saving it for later then!

Went to xmas do, didn't stay late, home....no pressie. Hmm.
Now I am a bit annoyed.
He then said, oh I put some money in your bank account. You can go get what you want.

Oh great. So no effort whatsoever then. Thanks a bunch.
Would you be p'ed off or AIBU?

(FWIW, it was £50, I checked bank this morning.)

I wouldn't deem money in the bank/card acceptable, but then I don't think money or vouchers are acceptable presents for partners. You should know each other well enough to know what they'd like.
